Hi I'm Graciela Pineda

I grew up in Southern California. I have served in the church as a nursery teacher and primary chorister. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been going to college for 2 years and have gotten my general education, and the field I plan to study is communications: I plan to become a speech pathologist. I enjoy reading, hiking, swimming, basically anything that gets me moving, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to have grown up in the church because it has helped me develop a strong testimony of the gospel. I did not seriously consider going on a mission until my mother died. After doing a lot of praying and fasting, I decided that going on a mission was what the Lord wanted me to do. Not only that but I had an even stronger desire to share the truthfulness of the restored gospel. I also felt an obligation to serve the Lord for all the blessings I have received and the comfort that I felt that I am eternally sealed to my mother and the rest of my family. That said, I want to share with my fellow brothers and sisters that they too can be sealed to their families for time and all eternity, that death is not the end: it's the beginning of a new step in Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, and most importantly that we can live with our Heavenly Father again because of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, I know this church is true, I know Joseph Smith translated and restored the gospel, and I know that Thomas S. Monson currently has the power and authority from God to be the prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have served in my ward as a nursery teacher and primary chorister. Through these callings and by sharing the gospel with my adolescent cousin (a prospective member), I have learned that I love serving and teaching the youth. I also have enjoyed visiting teaching the sisters in my ward.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Graciela Pineda
Mormon Temples are used to perform sacred ordinances, such as sealing families and husband and wife together for time and all eternity, as well performing baptisms for the dead. By being worthy to enter the temple, one can feel closer to our Heavenly Father and gain blessings for attending and participating in temple ordinances. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Graciela Pineda
Jesus Christ's church gives us guidance and direction on how to live our lives. We try to our best abilities to keep the word of wisdom and the commandments. We are able to serve our fellow brothers and sisters through various callings in the church such as young women adviser, bishop, stake president, primary chorister, etc. Callings give members an opportunity to serve others and often help those serving find joy in serving others. When we live worthily, we can find joy and happiness in this life. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Graciela Pineda
I do believe that there is a prophet like Moses alive today. Since the restoration of the church through Joseph Smith, we have been able to receive revelation through prophets, and the Lord continues to send prophets to guide and direct his church and his children. Show more Show less
