Hi I'm Jocelyn Dodds

I am adopted from China. raised in the United States, attended Brigham Young University, and now serving a mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Since I was adopted I live with my adoptive mother who is the best in the whole world. I also live with my younger sister who is also adopted, but is not my blood relation. I graduated from high school and then attended Brigham Young University for a year. Now I am taking a year and a half off to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am serving in the Idaho, Boise mission. The two most important things in the world to me are my family and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been so blessed. I was a one in a million chance. The chances that I was chosen to be adopted out of so many babies is incredible. I have been given a life full of love and hope. I have the ability to dream, a luxury that would not have been given to me if I had not been adopted. I am a Mormon because I know that I have a purpose here on this earth. I am a child of my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

The way that I live by faith is by serving others. I have served in many callings, Relief Society presidency which is an organization in the church, young women's organization, but most importantly I serve the Lord. I make sure that I am able to be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I strive to serve others, because even though I make many mistakes, serving others is serving the Lord.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jocelyn Dodds
It is the greatest joy that could ever be imagined. There is nothing that can bring more happiness. Either 12:4 says that "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with asurety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." That is what being a Mormon is like. Show more Show less
