Hi I'm Jacob

I am of Native Hawaiian descent. I am a father, a husband, a leader, a learner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native Hawaiian who was born and raised in the islands of Hawaii. Growing up in Hawaii has given me an increased love for nature and the creations of God. I am a father to two amazing children and have a loving wife who supports me in my role as a father and an equal partner in raising our children. I enjoy extreme sports such as, surfing, bodyboarding, and skateboarding. I am trilingual and am currently learning another language. I love trying new foods from different cultures and different parts of the world and listening to all types of music that makes me feel happy. I recently graduated with my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at one of the top Clinical Social Work programs in the country.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, has blessed me with the knowledge to become a better father. It has helped my wife increase her love and patience for our children and has helped my children grow up in a home where they can feel loved and safe. I am a Mormon because I believe that there is a God who loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins and for the sins of the world and that this infinite atonement has enabled us to live with him once more.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a better person, a better husband, and a better father. At a young age my father taught us the importance of helping others. He gave us the choice to join the scouting program so that we could serve in the community and become better citizens. In 2005 I made the decision to volunteer two years of my life by serving a full-time mission for my church to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the blessings that come from it. Every Monday my family and I get together to enjoy each other's company, play games, eat desert, and listen to a spiritual message about the teachings of Jesus Christ. Every night my family prays together to give thanks for the blessings that we have received and ask for blessings to come to those that are in need of them.
