Hi I'm Kaity Courtney

I'm from Temecula, California. I LOVE music and dancing. I like to read. I'm a lover of math and I'm a Mormon :D

About Me

I'm the youngest of five children. Both of my parents are converts to the church. I like to read and I love music and dance. I'm really energetic most of the time. I love my family even though they get on my nerves sometimes. I spent a semester in Idaho at BYU-Idaho and another semester taking online classes through BYU-Idaho. I hope to be a high school math teacher someday (maybe) but write novels on the side. I'm not perfect but I know that as long as I'm doing my best, I don't have anything to worry about. I am currently a sister missionary for the church serving in the Colorado Denver North Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the Church and I love it. I know that this gospel is true and that my Heavenly Father loves me and all of his children. I know that it is only through this restored Gospel of Jesus Christ that I can live with my Heavenly Father again after this life and that is my eternal goal. It is the whole reason I came to this Earth in the first place. I'm not a Mormon because it's a religion that makes me feel good. I'm a Mormon because I know that it is only through Christ's true church that I can accomplish my purpose for being here. It has helped me through so many trials, big and small. I am a Mormon because I know I wouldn't be near as happy or as successful. I love this gospel, I've tried others and this is the one that Heavenly Father has told me is the true Church of Jesus Christ and I plan on sticking with it.

How I live my faith

I am on a mission trying to share with people what I know to be true and how to get the most blessings in life and after this life. I study the scriptures and pray every day. I try to do what the Lord would have me do in all I do. I do service as much as possible. My faith is a part of who I am and I would be a completely different person without it!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kaity Courtney
You can know for yourself that this is true by praying and asking God for yourself. That is the one and only way you can know positively that this gospel is true. People could tell you all about everything we believe but the only way you will know for yourself with a sure knowledge is by asking God yourself. I know He will answer you as long as you ask with a pure heart, with real intent (the intent to act on the answer you receive), having faith in Jesus Christ. He will not, however, be "in your face" about it. You have to listen to how you feel and listen to the Holy Spirit if you want your answer. It will most likely be a quiet feeling of peace. If you do not heed this answer, the Spirit will withdraw until you ask again, listening. It may not happen at once either. We have to show our faith by praying again and again and continually listening even when we're not in the middle of praying or right after. It may take time, but if you do all that is required of you, you'll get your answer that this Gospel is true and that "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom once again established on the Earth..." What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kaity Courtney
I know that God exists because of everything around me. The balance of the universe and everything in it is too delicate to have been an accident. It's also too beautiful to not have some kind of Creator. Nature and the human body are too magnificent for something that happened by chance. I also know because of the Spirit. The Spirit or Holy Ghost can only testify of truth and it has testified to me that I do have a Heavenly Father that loves me dearly and cares about the things I care about. I haven't seen or touched or used any of the other 5 senses to know God. I know Him because of the Spirit, the universe itself, and the scriptures. Show more Show less
