Hi I'm Brittany

I'm one of them bubbly Utah girls. I love science, the arts, math, and most of all, a good conversation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the past two years I've been a full time college student working part time to pay for schooling. Education is very important to me. I love many many subjects and hope to eventually be like Thomas Jefferson, being able to sound like an expert in almost any topic. Besides my romance with books, I also love people.

Why I am a Mormon

Serving in the "Bible belt" I have had so many people question my faith. There have been atheists and Christians alike that have told me to reconsider my faith. I've felt more doubts come to my mind than any other time in my life. I felt like I had to start at the basics. How do I know God exists? The answer came from an Asian woman we were teaching. She had been brought up all of her life to believe there is no God. Yet, as she studied more and more about her field of work (Plant biology), she came to believe there is no other way that this happened without a creator. I look at my life, and know, there is no way that this could have happened without a creator. I've had too many prayers answered, I've felt his presence guide me, and his comfort surround me. This helped me come to the conclusion in my search: There is a God and he loves us! This is something I cannot deny. Next in my search, was knowing if this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is God's church. In Matthew 7, Jesus says, "By your fruits ye shall know them". There is no other church that I have seen bring forth greater fruits. The first I ever recognized, was in changing my life and that of my family's lives. People can say they believe in Christ. I've met many here in Georgia. However, I know that the teachings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are Christ's teachings. I love this church. Why? Because I know that it is God's church.

How I live my faith

Am I putting God's kingdom first is a constant question that comes to Mind. In my actions and the way I prioritize my life, I try to ask that question. Between a crazy busy life of two hour's of commuting, full time college, part time work, preparing lessons for the class that I teach every Sunday, visiting those who need a friend and helping them wherever I can, dates between two and four times a week, and wanting to spend time with family and friends there are some different ways that I could be spending my time. I've found though that when I put the Lord's kingdom first, by sacrificing homework on Sunday so that I can spend my time serving in the church, reading from the scriptures daily, visiting with my grandparents who I am so glad I have; everything works out. My homework always gets done. I start my mornings on a high note from reading the word of the Lord. By making the time for the most important things in my life, the ride becomes much more enjoyable. I may choose not to attend the late night parties, but I know that by following the counsel given to put the Lord's kingdom first, everything truly works out for my good.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Brittany
Along with that which President Hinckley so eloquently put, eliminating ways that pornography can enter the home, I believe would help those young boys who unknowingly stumble upon it, which cause the curiosity and addiction to start. By protecting the home from pornographic movies, music with lyrics that Show more Show less
