Hi I'm Jake Dunn

I grew up in Sandy, Utah. I played goalie in lacrosse for 13 years and go to the University of Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played lacrosse for 13 years, and played as goalie on my high schools varsity lacrosse team. I just finished my freshmen year of college and am now going on a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love doing just about anything outside. I love to fish, golf, wake board, slalom ski, snow board, and I love playing just about any sport. I love serving other people and I was also in several service clubs at my high school. I also have played piano for 11 years, although I'm not that good :) I'll try just about anything at least once, whether it be food or some fun trick on a wake board.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was Mormon. This, however, is not the reason I decided to join the church. I've decided to be a member of this church because I know it is true. I love the feelings I have when I'm in the church building, when I'm serving my neighbors and ward members, and when I try to be like the Savior. I've prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and I've received an answer to my prayer. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith translated it by the gift and power of God. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, and I know that through Repentance, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. I've made many mistakes, but I know that I can be forgiven of them if I strive to be like our Savior. I know the Priesthood was restored to the earth and I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet on the earth today. I want to continue following the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know it will make me happy. I know that the gospel brings happiness into our lives and I know we can be blessed by following the teachings of the Savior.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by serving those in it. I love to serve them, whether it be raking leaves, doing yard work, or shoveling snow from their drive ways. I've been called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be leaving soon. I'm really excited to go and serve the people of my mission!
