Hi I'm Zack Halisky

I'm a music producer, athlete, big brother, returned missionary, college student, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love everything about music, sports, and traveling. I've moved twice from New Jersey to North Carolina, then to Philadelphia. I'm now serving a full-time mission in the Utah Salt Lake City East Mission. I will be attending BYU when I return from my mission! I ran cross country and track in high school and hope to study mechanical engineering. I also love to play soccer, lacrosse, and hockey. I love everything about music- every genre, instrument, history there is about it. I've been drumming for 11 years now and I've been producing music and DJing for around 5 years. I also have a little brother with autism and he's the coolest kid ever!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the church, I never would have expected the impact it would have on my life throughout the years when I was young. As I grew older and older facing more difficulties, the one thing I could always rely on was the true gospel of Jesus Christ to help me make the right choices. I began to read the Book of Mormon gradually, and I could not describe how much my life began to change for the better. As I built myself upon His words, I began to see myself become the person I always hoped to be when I was younger. My understanding of God and His Son's eternal love for us would have never existed without the church, and for that, I am more grateful than ever.

How I live my faith

Before going on a mission, I was active in my church through youth programs such as Boy Scouts of America. I earned my Eagle Scout rank at the age of 14 and continued to participate in service projects, camp-outs, and other events with my troop. By doing service to others, I felt closely connected to my friends around me and my Heavenly Father. In addition, I love to help out at church service projects and volunteer to DJ church dances from time to time! As I served my mission, I gained a deeper conviction and love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My testimony that this is truly the Lord's church restored upon the Earth has grown significantly.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Zack Halisky
Absolutely not! The members of our church are encouraged to provide service wherever it is need to whomever it is needed. Throughout the past few decades, the Church has provided incredible efforts to relief in disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti Earthquake, the Japan Earthquake & Tsunami, and so forth. In addition, local aid is offered in communities across the globe. Even a simple service project for another family that is not Mormon is very common in the church. I have step-siblings that are members of another local church and I encourage myself and my brother to always help out whenever they are in need. To sum things up, our church teaches that when we are giving service to others, we are giving service to the Lord for showing love to his children, no matter who they are. Show more Show less
