Hi I'm Jenny

I am a true north, strong and free Canadian gal with the Rocky Mountains as my playground. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a tom boy growing up. I wanted to do what my older brother did, so my interests were mostly in sports, mainly basketball, and playing outside with my brother and his friends. Though I also had other hobbies like reading, writing and drawing. As much as I love being Canadian, I am also German and love this side of my heritage just as much. I grew up attending a German Bilingual School and the German Club in my city. As I have gotten older I have gained more hobbies and interests. I found out I have a talent in sewing, something I'm teased about by my family, and I enjoy anything that allows me to challenge my creative side. I have learned that there is so much this world has to offer. I want to experience it all and learn as much as I can along the way. My desires for the future are to travel the world, gain a degree in psychology, do whatever The Lord has planned for me, and go wherever The Lord has planned for me to go.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the honour of being born and raised in this church. My mother was raised in the church and my father is a convert. As I grew up my parents always encouraged me to gain my own testimony of this church, to know if it was true. From a young age I sought to know the truth myself and now I have a strong testimony. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, restored on this earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and that it holds the words Heavenly Father knows we need. I know that the priesthood was restored to this earth and that it is a true authority and power given to men to act through Heavenly Father's name. I know we have a living prophet that speaks to God and was given to us from our loving Father in Heaven to help give us guidance in these latter-days. I know all this, because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me the truths of these things; I know it with all my heart. I know this gospel and church brings joy and happiness to us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I have the privilege of teaching the young 4-7 year old kids of my ward in Sunday School (called primary in our church). I serve them and their families by loving them and being there for them if they ever need help. They tell me a lot of funny stories or jokes, but they have also shown me their simple and divine faith, which has strengthened my faith. I love these little ones like family. It is so rewarding to be able to teach them that they are loved by their Heavenly Father and our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are the strongest, most resilient, and most loving women I have ever known. We do believe that men and women are equal in the sight of God, but just like we are biologically different, we have been given different roles and responsibilities from our Heavenly Father. We could not be if we did not have men and we could not be if we had did not have women. We are to be equal partners on this earth assisting one another in our different responsibilities. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

In our church we believe that everyone was sent here on earth to learn about Jesus Christ and fulfill Heavenly Father's plan for happiness. We believe that true happiness comes from this church and it's gospel and that it is our duty to bring this happiness and knowledge to everyone so that they may experience this joy as well. That is why missionaries proselyte, to bring knowledge of this joy and happiness to everyone. Show more Show less
