Hi I'm Josh Hales

I grew up fighting for good. I think of life as my own personal video game. Friends and family matter most. I am a Mormon.

About Me

So, a bit about me is that I thoroughly enjoy playing video games and watching anime. I also really enjoy movies. Someday, I hope to have a profession in the Game or Film industry. (Or both.) I love to run, even though I don't always. I grew up in a family of five, an older brother, myself, a younger sister, and two parents. I had a fairly normal childhood, (If you consider me normal. I don't. ;) ) made good friends, and always stayed close to family. I have owned over 7 hamsters, over 5 different kinds of fish, a salamander, 3 dogs (one currently), and a ginue pig. I like pets. I have owned at least 7 different gaming systems and probably between 50-100 games. In highschool I was in the class for school news, mainly playing the roles of Producer, director, and filmer. I think I get it from my dad. I love books, mainly fiction/fantasy, and I defiantly get that from my mom. My favorite sport is snowboarding, though I may not be very good at it, I love a good run through fresh powder. I love art, even though I can't draw (Yet). Music plays a huge role in my life, I can't imagine my life with out it. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And that's basiclly me.

Why I am a Mormon

A few years ago I was getting ready for Church when I heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to my friend Deven. I asked what was wrong and he asked if I had heard the news. I had no idea in the world what he was talking about, and he reluctantly told me that one of my best friends had passed away that Friday night. The very concept of having someone who I knew that well, someone so close pass so soon in their life had never even entered into my mind before. I was heart broken, along with all of my other friends. Tory was always there, we always had fun together, he was like the sloid foundation to all of our friendships together. I was terrified, I needed help, and that's where the Church came into perspective. In this Church, we belive that it doesn't have to end when we die. We can all live with God again. Although Troy may not have been related to me by blood, we are all a part of God's family, we are all spiritual brothers and sisters. When I relized that we are all a part of God's family, I realized that God loves us, he's our Father in Heaven. When I realized how much God loves us, an overwhelming sense of peace came over me, and I felt like it was going to all be ok. That no matter what happens, God will be there for us. And I realized this because of revilation that was given to prophets of old in the Book of Mormon, and a living Prophet today through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And that's just one reason why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New York. Basically, that means I go out for two years and share my beliefs and church with others. It also means that I have to give-up things like video games, movies, and be away from family. It is an amazing experience that not many people get to have. I have been strengthened through this amazing experience and the many people I have been able to meet. I have grown closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ, and know that he not only loves me, but died so that we all might live.
