Hi I'm Sarah Quiroz

I love listening to life stories, singing, laughing randomly, and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission and loving every minute of it! Before my mission I studied psychology. People fascinate me, I love listening to their stories, and ideas. I love photography and the visual arts. I can spend days just thinking of creative projects, and I've spend full weekends bringing them to life. I love to sing, if there's not a song in my head I'm probably sleeping. I actively participate in choirs and love to praise the Lord through music and song. I get laugh attacks on a regular basis and sometimes in the most random situations but what can I say I'm a happy girl.

Why I am a Mormon

My life has been greatly blessed by constantly striving to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and being a member of His church. The peace and happiness I feel from being a Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) is irreplaceable. Through all the hard times and challenges of life, my faith in Christ has helped me have hope and smile through the adversity of life. I am forever grateful to my savior Jesus Christ and know that His gospel has been restored and is available for all of his children to partake of this wonderful gift which I treasure immensley.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission and love every minute of it. It's great to be anxiously engaged in a great and marvelous work. I have been learning so much about the gospel, the love our savior has for each of us, and in the process learning so.. much about myself and how to improve. I served as Young Women's camp director last summer and it was the best experience! I know God loves each of his beautiful princesses so... much and I strived to help them understand that every day at camp; in return I was able to see how every single one of them flourished and gained greater understanding of their purpose as well as enhanced confidence in their abilities and talents. I have also served as Ward Chorister and Primary Music director. I know music is a powerful source of inspiration and can make us better either by singing, playing an instrument or just listening. I love serving in the church and in my community. Through my service I've seen great blessing my life and in the lives of others.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Sarah Quiroz
In a world full of voices and information claiming to have an answer the scriptures help me have firm ground. I know God to be unchanging, His Gospel has always been the same but our circumstances are constantly changing. As I read the scriptural accounts from the Bible and Book of Mormon I learn from the experience of others. I can liken their experiences to mine and find guidance to my every challenge and affliction. I can pray to heavenly father ask questions and find answers through studying and pondering the messages contained in the scriptures. The Book of Mormon specifically is my biggest comfort and stress relief. No matter how hard my day has been if I turn to those sacred pages and I always find peace. Sometimes I cant see past whats right in front of me but by reading the scriptures I find eternal perspective and I can see depth in my daily purpose. I find joy and hope as I live the commandment to seek wisdom and knowledge from the best books. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Sarah Quiroz
Yes! Jesus Christ appeared to the ancestors of the American Indians. If you read the account in the Book of Mormon of Christ's time in America and listen to the stories told by some of the natives you can feel the connection. I have grown up with the stories of a white god in my cultural heritage and embedded in the history of indigenous Americans the account of Christ's coming has passed down one generation to the next. As I read the Book of Mormon I continue to find proof that these people's story is true they did in fact see the Resurrected Jesus Christ and He fulfilled his promise he would visit his sheep from a different fold. I know that Christ's love is global and not limited to one appearance but meant to go across distance and time and when I read the Book of Mormon his message reaches out to me in modern time.
