Hi I'm Ben Tolman

I grew up in Portland, Oregon, I have the coolest friends, I'm a musician, I'm currently serving a mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been really into writing and performing music ever since I was about 12 years of old. I did and still do everything I can to strengthen and nourish that God-given talent, it's very special to me. I moved to California when I was 7 years old, and if hadn't I never would've met all these people that have changed my life. My friends and my family (new members and old) mean the world to me, they've all really helped shape my life into what it is. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the Rio Grande do Sul, state of Brazil. I also had the opportunity of serving part of my mission in the Tucson, Arizona area while I waited for my visa to Brazil. Being on a mission has been probably the biggest blessing I've ever received from my Heavenly Father. When I come home, I'll be attending school at BYU Idaho studying further into music in hopes of one day becoming a composer for movie scores.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know that this church is the Lord's kingdom being built upon the Earth. Being a mormon is exciting really, getting to serve a mission for two years in a place you're not familiar with, potentially on the other side of the world, literally doing nothing but serving other people by helping them receive the gospel! There's a lot of other things about this religion that I love, including how important the family unit is to the church and the good morals that are taught to the youth. But the most rewarding thing about it is being able to help others receive the same joy of this gospel that I have. So yeah, I'm a mormon for many reasons, and what more than anything for others to experience those things for themselves.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others come unto Christ. I know that it's through Him that we all can be saved. There's no thought more precious to me than the thought of returning back to into God's presence worthily. Through serving a mission and sharing my talent of music with others, I hope to be able give others the same joy this gospel has given me.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Ben Tolman
It takes some faith, but luckily that faith isn't all THAT hard to gain. Just simply search, ponder, and pray. Have a question, study it out in your mind, and then ask of God. If you're diligently seeking the truth and doing all that He asks you to do beforehand, He WILL answer you! I mean what good reason does He have not too? But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself! Show more Show less
