Hi I'm Kenna

I'm a student studying Wildlife Science. I love playing sports, being outside, traveling, and looking for adventure! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and am the oldest of five kids. I love being outside and hope to someday be a wildlife biologist! I am going to school at Utah State University and am majoring in Wildlife Science. I also received an Associate's degree from Snow College in Science. I really enjoy playing sports, particularly basketball and soccer! I also am a ballroom dancer and have been on the ballroom team at both Snow College and USU. I am always looking for a new adventure and ways to have fun! I love to meet new people and make memories. I also love to do crazy stuff like skydiving, cliff jumping, crawling in bear dens, etc. Kind of an adrenaline junky! My dream is to travel the world doing humanitarian work! I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Albuquerque, New Mexico speaking Spanish and I couldn't be more excited! I love my family, friends, and life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon and living this gospel is what makes me the most happy. I know that in times of my life when I haven't been as active in the church that something was missing. I wasn't as happy. Life is better when I live my faith, draw closer to my father in Heaven and rely on the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love this gospel! I know that families can be together forever and that we receive revelation in our day that can help to improve our lives! Sometimes its easy to assume that since I have been brought up in this church, that I simply am doing what my parents have done and that I don't know its true for myself. This couldn't be more wrong. I have a strong testimony for myself that this church is true!! I have prayed about it and gotten an answer. I have felt the spirit countless times in my life and I know that heavenly father is involved in the intricate details of our lives. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to have been involved in this gospel my entire life. I wouldn't still be a member if I didn't know it was true. Doing what is right is definitely not easy, but it is so worth it. This gospel brings me more happiness than anything else does. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the book of Mormon is true and that Christ lived and suffered for our sins through the atonement. We can be forgiven of our sins if we truly repent. This takes work. It is not a mere acceptance of Christ and then we are saved. But I do know that if we are obedient and try to be better, we are happier and can return to be with heavenly father and that is my ultimate goal. The temple is the lord's house and I know that through them families can be united for eternity. I know that President Monson is a true prophet and that he is God's mouthpiece on the earth today. I love this gospel and know with all my heart that it is true! I am the happiest when I am really living it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I do my best to be obedient, keep the commandments, and follow the prophet's counsel as well as serve others. I also serve within my ward through church callings that I am assigned, as well as in my community. I feel like when I am serving others, I am the most happy! By following the example of Jesus Christ I can draw closer to heavenly father and become the best person I can be. I feel like a smile goes a long ways and I try my best to do little things everyday that help others to be happy, while at the same time raising my own spirits. I know that if I am trying to do whats right, then I can return to live with my heavenly father again with my family for all eternity. What could be better than that? Nobody is perfect, and I make mistakes but I am striving my best to do what is right.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Kenna
Temples are very sacred and are considered heavenly father's house. But they are definitely not "closed" to anyone that is worthy to enter them. In fact our church wants everyone to go through the temples as long as they are worthy! There are special blessings and covenants there that you can't find anywhere else. You can feel the spirit there extremely strong and it is truly an incredible experience to be inside the temple as well as on the temple grounds. Visitors are very welcome to come to the grounds and experience the spirit that resides there. I actually just went through the temple through the first time not too long ago and it is truly incredible. We want all to come to the temple!!! It is just important to be prepared spiritually before going inside, there is nothing secret at all about it. In the temples we learn, receive sacred ordinances, and provide ordinances for those who have already passed away so that they will be able to accept the gospel if they choose. Show more Show less
