Hi I'm Gonzalo Sanhueza

I grew up in Santiago, Chile. And also lived a while in Knoxville, Tenneese when I was 5-8 years old. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Gonzalo, i love sports, music and my family. I'm the oldest of 4 brothers, one is preparing to go on a mission in Fresno, California. I'm currently serving a mission in Sacramento, California. It started in February 12, 2013. I like to play soccer, it's my passion. Like to hang out with friends, share time with family, go to parties and everything fun. Before my mission I was studying to be a lawyer in Universidad de Los Andes, It is in the planes to keep studying that after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but that's not why I'm a Mormon. I knew the church was true when I was 14. I prayed with real intent and with a true desire to know if through this church I could be with my Heavenly Father again, and I felt it, I can't describe the feeling that I had, I can only say that through my feelings I confirmed that this church is the church of God and not a church of men, and through this church I could be more closer to God and Jesus Christ. Since that moment I felt a real member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I understand the real meaning of why we need a church in the earth. The most incredible thing and marvelous of my conversion is that the answer of the true church wasn't given by somebody of my family or a friend or a leader of my church, it was given by God. Because God answer my question, there is nothing and nobody that can't change that answer that was given unto me. I can promise you that this church is true and only through this church we can be able to be with God and Jesus Christ. As we obey his commandments he will bless us with things that we don't even imagine, I have witness those blessings and I know how happy we can become through obeying and following him, and the best way to do that is going to his church, where we learn all the things that we must do to live with him someday. Trust in God and he will do the rest...

How I live my faith

I have had several callings in the church, the most important so far being my current calling as a full-time LDS missionary, serving in Sacramento, California. I know that as I read in the scriptures and pray every day that I can feel the Spirit throughout the day, and likewise am happier. I try to participate in ward activities as much as possible As I do all of these little things in my life, the great big tough burdens of life are made lighter. The gospel is like exercise. I can't just stop exercising and expect to stay healthy and strong. It's the same with church. The more you exercise your faith and participate in the principles of the Gospel of Christ, the stronger your testimony of them can become.
