Hi I'm Heather Ann Slater

I love to dance, eat, sing and play. I love everything about life! I love my friends and family. I love being a Mormon:)

About Me

I grew up in Utah as the oldest of 4 kids in a very outdoorsy family. We spend a lot of time hiking, hunting, fishing, backpacking, boating, camping and just being together outside. I can be pretty indecisive. I can't give favorites because it's constantly changing. My favorite season is the current season. I love Winter because I love to play in the snow! Like tubing, sledding, skiing, snowball fights and parking lot donuts. Spring is absolutely beautiful! I love the vibrant colors of the new year and how green everything becomes. I love the rain, especially thunderstorms. Summer is amazing! I absolutely love the sun and being outside. Boating is one of my favorite things to do, wakeboarding, slalom skiing, knee boarding and of course tubing! I hope to leave on a beach someday so that I can learn how to surf and achieve my lifelong goal of swimming with dolphins. I absolutely love star gazing and find that to be the best way to sort out all my questions and problems in life. (Along with singing in the shower) Fall brings so many beautiful colors. I live on a mountain so my entire world becomes engrossed with the beauty of change. I also love to Dance. I danced on my high school Drill Team and Dance Company and also at the College Level on Drill Team. I have a passion for dance and I love the ability it gives you to express your emotions. I also love music! I love food and trying new things. I have a Passion and Love for life itself and I try to live each day to the fullest!

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I can not deny its truthfulness. I have had my own personal manifestation that this is the Saviors Gospel restored on the earth at this time to help each of us return to live with our Loving Heavenly Father with our Families For Time and all Eternity. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ suffered for my own personal transgressions and that he has felt every emotion I ever have and ever will feel. I have felt the love of Christ when I think there is no hope and that I am all alone. I know that I will never be alone because the Savior will always be there in my time of need and that he truly understands. This knowledge that there is always hope bring so much peace into a life full of stress and trials. I also know without a doubt that my Heavenly Father knows me individually and personally. He knows me for who I am by name and he Loves me more than I will ever be able to comprehend. I know that I am a choice daughter of God and we are all his children. I know that the Prophet Joseph Smith was able to restore this true and living Gospel to the earth in these Latter Days as well as translate The Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know this book is another true testament of Christ.I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living Prophet on the earth today and he receives revelation in our day. I know that I have the ability to speak to my Heavenly Father through prayer and that he truly hears and answers me because he cares about my needs in life. I know that there is the Power of God on earth today through the Holy Priesthood. I know this is the power of God to work miracles today. I know that Families are Forever and that there is life after this earthly one. We can be together with our families Forever through the power of the Priesthood I the holy Temples of the Lord. I am so grateful for the Love and Hope that this Gospel provides me in my life and I know without a doubt that it is True.

How I live my faith

I have grown up as a member to the LDS faith and I am so grateful to have had this blessing in my life. Being surrounded by such good examples has helped me to develop and strengthen my own abilities, talents, beliefs and influenced me to become the best person I can be. I have had the opportunity to serve the people around me at a very young age by holding my own specific church callings within my youth group presidencies. I have learned so much from holding leadership positions in my youth and having the opportunity to learn from my leaders. I learned things such as responsibility, dedication, and selfless service. This characteristics and many others that I was able to develop young have helped me to be successful in schooling, my dancing, and working.I was also able to attend girls camps and youth conferences with kids my age all growing up. Having these fun, educational and spiritual experiences with my friends has truly helped to strengthen my own testimony and help me discover for myself that I have a firm knowledge of the truthfulness of this Gospel. In high school I had the chance to attend Seminary as an hour of my school schedule to learn more about the gospel and help me to increase my scripture knowledge. This church education at school continued in college at Institute. I was so grateful for Institute in college! It was like a home away from home. When school would get stressful and overwhelming I had my institute class to help me focus and realize that I always have the support of the lord in my life. Currently I have been preparing to serve a full time Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have participated in Missionary Preparation classes in addition to my regular Sunday school classes. I now have the opportunity to serve the Lord for 18 months to help bring what I know to be true to others who haven't had the opportunity of hearing about this gospel yet. I am so excited to bring this everlasting Joy and Hope to others!
