Hi I'm Savanah

I grew up in the Central Coast of California, I love to be outdoors, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and I love to play the piano, read, go hiking and camping, I absolutely love children and my family are the most important people in my life. I am currently going to college at BYU-Idaho and I am studying Elementary Education. I hope to one day be able to teach Kindergarten! Kindergarten because the children at that age are just so curious and anxious to learn I want to be able to be a part in their learning experience and growth. I love to be outdoors and exploring the Earth that God has given us. It is really amazing to me to go out and learn as much as I can about this beautiful planet we are blessed to live on. The nature, air, colors, textures and smells surrounding us are ever changing and it is so astonishing to me to realize the vast amount of things we do not know about Earth. Everything is so beautiful and here for us to experience and love, so why not go out and enjoy it as much as you can?

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church, but I feel that even members who are born into this church have their own conversion story, and I have had my own. I felt the presence of Lord's influence and love in my life, and through those experiences I have gained my own testimony of this gospel and its truth. My testimony is that I believe this gospel to be the true and ever lasting gospel, restored to this Earth for our benefit and well being, without this gospel I would not be who I am today. The gospel has been molding me into the person I am today through my own actions, and through my diligent parents as well, not only through the principles I learned throughout my life in this church. I am so grateful for Jesus and His sacrifice for us, I will be eternally grateful for His atonement and the saving grace of it. Without that atonement I would not be able to one day return again and see my family and Heavenly Father again. Without this gospel I would be in darkness and sadness, I am so glad that this gospel is here to bring me light and happiness in my life. Without my testimony I feel that I would be lost in this world. I rely so much on my testimony to keep me strong in times of trial and need. Without my testimony I would not know right from wrong and I would definitely not be the same without it. It means the world to me! My testimony is, to me, a manifestation of my spirit shining through my every day actions. It is me, and without it I would not complete.

How I live my faith

As a single student I attend a Young Single Adult ward on campus and I absolutely love it! I am able to mingle with people my age and connect with others on such a better level. I am a visiting teaching coordinator in my ward, and it has been such a great blessing to work with the sisters I am in the committee with. I am there to make sure that the other girls in the ward are visiting the girls they are assigned and that they are making the needed visits in time. I love being able to talk to the girls in my ward and see how they are doing! Visiting teaching is one of my favorite aspects of this church. Another aspect that I really enjoy here is Home Evening. It is so great to meet with an apartment of girls and boys from my ward every week and talk about the gospel and then have an activity where we are able to grow closer as a group and friends. I am one who strives to live my faith through example. I love to show everyone that being a Mormon isn't dull or boring, but it is in fact lots of fun and so very rewarding in the long run. I love being able to be a Mormon and be an example of how we live day to day.
