Hi I'm Amy Forbush

I love playing tennis and dancing. I hope to be an elementary school teacher one day. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent most of my life in the wonderful state of Utah. I come from a small family consisting of my parents, my brother, and me. I love spending time with them! Some of our favorite things to do are play board games, eat dinner together, and go on road trips. We love visiting national parks, especially down in Southern Utah. I am an avid dancer, whether I am performing on a stage or having a dance party with my roommates. My favorite sport to play is tennis.Currently I am a student studying Elementary Education, and I hope to one day become a fourth grade teacher. I love getting to know people and little tidbits about their lives. I love making people happy and I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring happiness to all of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I love the gospel! I love the happiness it brings to my life and I don't know where I would be without it. Although I was raised in a Mormon home, over time I have come to know that the church is true on my own. When I turned 12 I actively participated in the church's youth program for young women, which was a huge testimony builder for me. Each year all of the young women would travel up into the mountains for a camping trip where we would do fun activities together which helped to strengthen our friendships and our testimonies. At the end of this trip we would have a testimony meeting, where we would all share what we had learned and come to know. These testimony meetings around the fire were some of the most spiritual times I had ever experienced, and they helped me to recognize that I did indeed have a testimony! I bore my testimony each year, and as I did I felt a warm feeling in my heart, testifying to me that the gospel was true. That warm feeling was the Holy Ghost. I wanted to have that good feeling with me always, so I started to take action by reading the Book of Mormon and praying daily. Although I was not perfect at studying and praying, I did my very best and my testimony continued to increase. As I have gotten older I have continued these righteous habits, and they still continue to strengthen my testimony today. I know Christ is our loving Savior and through Him we can receive strength every day. I know I am a daughter of God, and He loves all of us so much. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it can help us with anything we may be facing. I know that through the Plan of Salvation I can be with my family for eternity. This gospel is the best thing in my life, and I am so grateful that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

What I love about the gospel is that I can live it by doing the small and simple things such as reading the scriptures, praying to my Heavenly Father, attending church, and serving others. Although these things are not complex, they help bring me closer to Christ and strengthen my testimony. My own testimony of the gospel has brought me so much happiness that I have chosen to serve a full-time mission for the church, where I will be sharing the message of the gospel every single day! However, missionary work does not begin nor end with my full-time mission, I can be a missionary daily by living a Christ-like life and inviting everyone around me to experience the blessings of this incredible gospel.
