Hi I'm Lauren

I am serving as a missionary in Santiago, Chile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children and 46 grandchildren. I am going to college at UVU, and majoring in Communications, which will hopefully put me on the path of broadcast journalism. I decided, after much prayer, to put my education on hold for 18 months while I go serve the people of Santiago, Chile on a mission. My parents are mission presidents for 2013-2016 in the Redlands, California mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know life is easier this way. It may seem odd to say that, but by living the commandments I am able to have a guided life and be blessed. My mind is clear and my thoughts are directed by the Spirit. Decisions are easier to make when the Spirit is present. I know that families can be together for eternity through the temple ordinances. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, and what a glorious gift that is! I NEED to pray for repentance on a daily basis, but because of His sacrifice I know that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon work hand in hand to testify of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated for our modern day by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that we currently have a prophet on this earth, President Thomas S. Monson, who continues to receive revelation to guide all of us. I know that Heavenly Father knows each of us personally, and I know that we are all children of a God. I will forever be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There isn't a way to honestly deny the many confirmations I have received that the gospel has been restored. I testify that the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I pray that those who are sincerely searching for truth will be able to be guided to this church. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have taught the children in my area for the past year. We talk about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and they share with me how they know that the gospel has been restored to the earth in the Latter-Days. They, and I, have learned that Joseph Smith was a true modern day prophet. Because we know that the things Joseph Smith did were of our Heavenly Father, we know that all of the prophets after him, clear until our recent prophet, Thomas S. Monson, have been called and directed by Heavenly Father. I am getting ready to go to girls camp before my mission as a leader. The girls, ages 12-18, are excited to tak a week away from the world and focus on things of the Spirit. We are going to enjoy nature, and learn survival skills, both physically and spiritually. My favorite part of girls camp is testimony meeting, which is when the girls get to sit around the campfire and share the things that they have had the Holy Ghost witness to them that week. These witnesses of the Holy Ghost come through a peaceful feeling, and the girls are able to testify to me & to one another that this is the TRUE & LIVING Church of Jesus- Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
