Hi I'm Emily Decker

I love my family. Play soccer or anything fun. Enjoy making people laugh. Serving in Detroit. Best part, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Born and raised in Utah, no surprise there. I have an amazing family that I love so much. They are the best. Grew up in the church and it has made me who I am today. I love hanging out with friends and I enjoy my summers.

Why I am a Mormon

BLESSINGS!!!! I have been so blessed as I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized at eight and remember that day like it was yesterday. That was a wonderful day. The best part, that was the beginning of my journey of growing and becoming more like Jesus Christ. Ever since then I have been blessed with so many things that I could not name them all. I truly love to count my many blessings, to see what the Lord has done for me. Some of those blessings are the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, a living prophet on the earth, the priesthood: the power to act in God's name and the knowledge that families can be together for eternity. I know that this church is true. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him if it is. It didn't all come at once but over time I have come to that knowledge. My faith has kept me strong and that is why I keep it but now I know it is better to share it.... that is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am serving as a full-time missionary in Detroit Michigan. That is how I live my faith. Everyday I wake up at 6:30 a.m. and go out all day to find people to share my faith with! Sharing my faith has helped me to be stronger and to receive more faith. I love being a disciple of Jesus Christ. It makes me work harder to become better. We all want to become better in one way or another and by living the gospel of Jesus Christ or living the way that he lived will help us become better people. I know that because I am a living witness of that. I could not live a happy life without the faith that I have. The gospel is unchanging but it will definitely change you, if you will let it!!!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Emily Decker
Yes, families are forever. Because we have a loving Heavenly Father he has blessed us with our families for a reason. We need the family that we have to become who we need to become and to also help them. These family relationship with be forever. Through the power of the Temple we can be with our families for eternity, that is a wonderful blessing. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Emily Decker
The greatest thing ever. Being a mormon has taught me who I really am. I have been taught standards that have helped me through difficult situtations. I am so happy because I know what my Heavenly Father expects of me and I always want to do the right thing. I don't have all these things that I can't do, they are things that I don't want to do because God has asked me not to do those things. As I have learned and followed the path that God has given be I have become a better person! Show more Show less
