Hi I'm Ryan Carter

I was born and raised in Oregon. I love playing all kinds of sports, especially basketball and baseball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As I have grown up I have always loved playing sports! My favorite sport has always been basketball with the exception of the past few years when it has been tied with my love for baseball. I also love going to sporting events and playing a pick up game of football, and really any other sport really. When I'm not playing sports, I love spending time with friends and doing pretty much anything. I grew up in Oregon but have also spent a little bit of time living in Kentucky and Utah with my family while my dad had work. I am currently serving my 2 year mission in the Charleston West Virginia mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church so as a kid I would attend with my parents as I learned from them. The older I got the more I learned and the more I loved being a member. As a youth I relied on the testimony of my parents a lot. I believed that what my parents said was true but I did not know it for myself. I can't point to one specific time or event where I knew everything was true, and my testimony is still growing and being strengthened every day. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me by my first name and that they love me very much. I know that Joseph Smith restored the church and all the priesthood keys on the earth today. I know that as well as restoring the church and translated the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it has been written for our day. I know that our Heavenly Father listens to, and answers our prayers. I know all of this without a doubt and it brings so much happiness into my life.

How I live my faith

Since the age have 12 I have constantly been involved in leadership rolls for people my age. I have also helped out in organizing activities for the youth in the church. I have occasionally taught lessons to peers. From all these rolls I have loved being able to grow closer to my peers and those I worked with, as well as helping strengthen my peers. I now have the opportunity to do this on my mission as I help others grow as well as myself.
