Hi I'm Daniel McPherson

I love to get lost in a good book. I love debating. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have moved around the country all my life. I have never lived in one place for more than four years, and I have never gone to the same school for more than two years in a row. In High School I was on the Speech and Debate team. I participated in Public Forum debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and Congressional Speaking/Debate. In fact, I like debating so much, that I plan on becoming a lawyer, and maybe eventually into politics. I am also a big reader, mainly of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. My favorite book of all time is The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I'm also a really big Star Wars fan. I am excited for Star Wars VII to come out. I also enjoy musicals. My all time favorite is The Music Man, since I was in it, my dad was in it, and my grandmother was in it at one point or another. Les Mis, and The Phantom of the Opera round out my three favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

I have decided to be a Mormon, because I know that this is the true church. I know this because I have applied the promise in Moroni 10:3-5. I have read the Book of Mormon, pondered it and asked God if it is true, and He has told me that it is. This is something I jave t done once in my life, but several times. Each time I ask God if this is the true church, he reassures me that it is. I probably will continue to ask God to know if this is true throughout my life. You can never been too certain. I know that Gid does answer our questions, and that he loves us.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by doing the best I can to set a positive influence for my friends and family. I do this by actively, and visibly, live my faith in such a manner so that people know that what I say, and what I do are the same. By doing this, I hope to encourage my friends to live the gospel and there faith more fully. I am also making sure to read the scriptures and pray, that way I can draw closer to God. I am not perfect though I try my best. That's why I'm grateful for repentance and the Doctrine of Christ, that way my mistakes aren't the end.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Daniel McPherson
For me personally, the biggest thing that tells me that there is a God is all of the blessings I have received in my life. These blessings have come by way of 'coincidences.' All of these 'coincidences' have turned out to improve my life by giving me some great and amazing blessings, oftentimes months or even years down the road. I know that that is no accident, and that is merely God's Hand in my life leading me and guiding me. These 'coincidences' just happen way to often to truly be coincidences, it has to be some higher power who loves me and cares for me. Show more Show less
