Hi I'm Kaitlyn

I'm a traveler. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Kaitlyn. I am nothing extraordinary, just an average girl who does average things. I am a writer, a wakeboarder, a beach-lover, and a basketball player. I love being creative and active. I grew up in a home full of my best friends: my parents and my seven siblings. My fondest experiences are of traveling the world with my family. That time is precious to me, but my greatest joy has been found in being a full-time missionary in the Washington Spokane Mission. I have a passion for sharing the gospel with everyone I meet. Restored truths about our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel help people realize thier potential as sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father. What greater joy is there?

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life, I have not always known these things to be true. Despite my doubt, I continued to live the gospel and pray to have faith. Through big and small experiences, my knowledge and faith grew. Obedience to the Lord's commandments played a huge role in my search for truth. Jesus Christ is the center of this church. He is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind. He knows and understands our battles. He was resurrected so we might live again. We are children of God. He loves us and wants us to return to him. The family unit is sacred, and through the covenants we make with Heavenly Father, we can be with them for eternity. I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon, are God's word. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who saw Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon through the direction of the Lord. There is a prophet on the earth today who leads us. Anyone with a sincere desire, who will ask in faith, will come to know the truthfulness of these things.

How I live my faith

My faith defines me. It is what I cling to for comfort and peace. I love serving God's children. We can serve in many capacities. We can extend a hand to a neighbor in need or comfort a family member who is struggling. We can get involved in the community and get to know new people. I have found joy in serving my Heavenly Father as a full-time missionary and in other callings in the Church. Service is a way I can act on my faith in Jesus Christ. As my faith is strengthened, my thoughts, actions, and words change to be a little more like the Savior each day.
