Hi I'm Joshua Cordon

I love football, dancing, and discussing philosophy. I am a full time missionary in Jacksonville, Florida, AND I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my two first semesters of college, and have decided that my major will be Mechanical Engineering. During those two semesters I was on three of the universities Folk Dance teams. I also played on an intramural ultimate Frisbee team with some of my friends and I coached a girls intramural flag football team. I am training to hopefully walk on to the football team as a defensive back. I enjoy engaging in intellectual conversation about science, philosophy, politics, and religion. Though I love a good conversation, I also love playing video games (preferably Halo), camping, hiking, playing board games, and going to dance parties.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised a member of this church, I continue to be a member because I truly believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and my faith brings me immense happiness. I have two brothers who have chosen to leave my church, and because I remained very close to them I have been able to learn from their experiences, and see their point of view. I do not follow blindly, I have given much time to consider counter-arguments to God, religion and my faith, but the more I do the stronger my faith becomes. I know that we have a literal Heavenly Father who knows and cares about each and every person on this earth. I know that he has a plan for me, and that he has answered my prayers. I know that because of Jesus Christ and through his gospel we can find true joy and happiness in this life, and have it for eternity. So for all those reason's I will be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling my assignment as a teacher of a small class during our meetings on Sunday's. I also visit the homes of different members of our faith and find ways to serve them, get to know them, and give them spiritually uplifting messages. For the next two years of my life I will be in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina on a religious mission for my church. For my mission I will be finding people who are interested in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teach them about it, and invite them to be baptized. All the while engaging in numerous service projects.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joshua Cordon
NO. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we worship God the Eternal Father and his son the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ. We recognize Joseph as a prophet of God and the translator of the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
