Hi I'm Chelsey

I was raised Catholic and converted March 2013. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I am a recent convert to the church. My baptism was March 2013. It was a huge lifestyle change but I am so grateful for the journey that led me to the Mormon church. My conversion story is in the Why I am a Mormon section. :) I enjoy writing and reading. I'm a huge movie buff. I enjoy all types of movies. I like to try new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic but after losing my only sibling in a tragic accident, my faith took a turn for the worse. I stopped going to church and stopped praying altogether. I was bitter and angry at why my brother was taken from me so soon and so tragically. I started doing volunteer work and even created a sibling loss group in my state. I was trying to fill the void I had but after a year and a half, something was still missing. Through mutual friends I found the church and I this desire to ask questions. I went to the missionaries with a long list of questions, mostly pertaining to the afterlife. Even though it was difficult, I started praying again and I continued to meet with the missionaries. Several times they would ask me if I felt the spirit and every time I would say no. Until one day, I felt it. I couldn't deny it anymore. People tell me, "That's great, you must have found answers to your questions." I respond, "No, I didn't find answers. I could never know in this lifetime why my brother died or why so young, or why so tragically. No, I surrendered and I let go of my questions and then peace entered my life." I know I've made the right decision because I am happy and because I have found peace.

How I live my faith

As a recent convert I am still waiting for my calling. :)
