Hi I'm Brett

I'm a twenty year-old hamburger, golf, and rock n' roll enthusiast. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 20 years old serving a mission in Rochester, New York. I am the oldest of 6 in my family. My passions in life are golf, hamburgers, and music. I play guitar and dream of someday taking the stage in front of many to rock their socks off. I feel on top of the world when a guitar is around my shoulder and I go into this weird trance sort of thing. The golf course is where I feel the most peace and the most at home. Family is important to me, not just in this life, but forever. I try my best to share love. I feel love is the solution to everything. Love, love love. I love love.

Why I am a Mormon

The answer to this question is so simple, yet so hard to explain. For a long time, I struggled to find God. In fact, I came to the conclusion that God wasn't even there. He couldn't be. If He was, He would have spoken to me by then. I had made some life choices based on my current religious views that I feel disappointed my family and friends. I felt like I had let them down, but I couldn't go on with something I didn't completely believe in. At this point, I didn't really know which direction to take my life. So I decided I was going to go to college, get a job, and live a normal life. Nothing was wrong with that decision. All of my friends started going on missions or going away to college. I felt so alone. I felt my family was let down, and my friends weren't by me. I needed to find out about this God thing once and for all. I decided to let go of all the current thoughts I had on God and look at God as if I was learning about Him for the first time. I started reading the Book of Mormon. One night when I was quite low, I talked with God like I do with any other person. I was overcome by the feeling you get when you hug someone you really, really love. Ever since that moment, I knew there was a God and more importantly, I knew He loved me. So to make a long story short, I decided to serve a mission. My decision to pursue God and embark on a lifelong journey of coming to know Him has made my life infinitely better. If you're struggling right now, know you're loved. You probably don't believe it, but keep trying. If you sincerely want to know God, you will find Him. I promise.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. Not only Mr. Rogers, but Jesus Christ taught us to treat everyone as our neighbor. God could have made us go through this life alone. He is all-powerful. He could do it if He wanted. However, he didn't. I feel there is a reason He did so. Since we are all His children, I can't imagine He would want us to treat each other any less than like our neighbor. I simply love others. Well, I try to at least. I don't live my faith by telling others I have faith as much as I try to show them I have faith. Living my faith is quite simply LIVING like you have faith.
