Hi I'm Caitlin Cook

I'm a runner, a hiker, a nutrition nerd and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a University student at Brigham Young University studying Dietetics. I want to work with non-profit organizations to promote healthy eating habits for families and educate parents how to help teach their children to be healthy eaters. I love to run, hike, and go white river rafting. I love anything that has to do with being outside. I am the 2nd oldest of 4, 2 sisters 1 brother. I served a 18 month mission in the Birmingham England Mission and it really taught me to love the rain. One things that has helped me in my life is the knowledge that God loves me and wants to help me. One of my favorite scripture from the Book of Mormon is Alma 26:12 "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things..." It reminds me that as long as I include the Lord I can accomplish anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I wanted to be apart of Jesus Christ church, the same one that He organized when He was on the Earth and I learned that this is His church. I know this because I asked Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true and I got my answer that yes it is God's word, another record to teach us of His son. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true I know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and that he did reestablish Christ's church. I have felt that calming, peaceful Spirit answer my question, testifying that this is His Church, His Gospel and the way to return to live with our loving Heavenly Father again. This knowledge reminds me that I am a Child of God. I know that He loves me because as I have prayed and asked him I have felt his love. The Book of Mormon has strengthen my testimony that Jesus Christ is God's son and that He died for me so that I can live with my Heavenly Father. This Gospel brings me peace, happiness, and hope. And while I know I don't have all the answers I know enough, all I really need to know is that I am a child of God, that He loves me and everything that happens will be for my good. I am so grateful to have the knowledge that the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actually living what I believe and being true to it. I live what I know. I try to act in a way that will make it so people will know that I believe in Christ and that they want to get closer to Him. I believe we are all Gods children and he loves all of us and so I try to see people as God would, which means i love them unconditionally and even if I don't agree with some of the things they do I make sure they know that I love them regardless. While I'm on my mission I will be able to teach all those that I see and help them to know that not only does God love them, but that He loved us enough to prepare a way to live with Him and our families again.
