Hi I'm Sister Amanda Glancy

I'm a musician. I am a missionary. I love Portland, OR and Logan, UT. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Utah, Provo mission. I will be serving for a period of 18 months. Before my mission I went to Utah State for a year studying Vocal Performance. I love to sing and play the piano. Music is my mission in life. I'm learning to love Opera and maybe that will be my career one day!! I love serving the people around me. It is such an important part of his gospel and everything I believe. Everything we believe centers around Jesus Christ and his example of turning outward when the natural man would turn inward. What a wonderful chance I have to truly live what I believe. I love my family, and I can't wait to be reunited with them in a year and a half. I am the second oldest of 6 with 1 older sister and 4 younger brothers. I love nature and all of God's creations. It always reminds me of the beauty He has not only blessed the earth with but every person. We are children of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am weak. I have struggles. I am not perfect. I weep, I cry and I feel pain. In the Gospel of Jesus Christ I learn to love, grow, and heal. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ I have learned how to pray to our Father in heaven. He hears our prayers. He wants to help us in our lives. Our Father in Heaven wants us to have joy in this life and the life to come. This Gospel gives my life purpose and meaning. I am growing. I am still not perfect but I am striving to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in all that I do and say, by loving His children. I believe that families can be together forever. I know that Christ can heal pains, sorrows, and forgive sins. I know that God will strengthen us in our weakness if we humble ourselves and come to Him. This I know and say in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I love going to church! Singing is of course my favorite form of worship. "The song of the righteous is a prayer unto me." The Scriptures truly are written for our day and I love to learn from them. I love going to the Temple and feeling the peace and warmth that is found there. Choosing to serve a mission is probably the hardest thing I've ever done.It takes so much faith to believe that God will take care of me while I give up the things I want to be the servant he needs. I know that he will bless me for my sacrifices. I know that my future family will be blessed as well. I hope I can make an impact in someone's life for the better. This life was not mean for us to struggle aimlessly without purpose. We have a grand purpose, to become like our Father in Heaven, which also means inheriting all that he has. I know that the savior will come again in His glory and I am so grateful to be one of His servants going out as He hastens his work before his coming. I pray for my family. I pray for charity. I pray for hope. I pray for strength.
