Hi I'm Nathan

I live in Pennsylvania and was a Drum Major of a 100 member marching band. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy music and performing on different instruments, i play french horn, Flugal horn, tumpet, and piano. I was a Drum Major for a 100 member marching band so i rapidly discovered my love for conducting as well. I also enjoy playing soccer and greatly enjoy woodworking. I have recently received a mission call to Brazil where i will be learning how to speak Portuguese and teaching other about my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, but i firmly believe that at one point everyone personally goes through a conversion process or a time where they truly want to know if the church is the right church to join. I went through that point when i was in my early teens. I really wanted to truly know if the church i was following was true and to know if what i had been taught all my life was true. so i studied the scriptures out, that being the bible and the book of Mormon, and discovered that if i truly wanted to know if it was true than i had to pray about it sincerely. so i did, i did every day and night to know if it was true. My answer didn't come immediately but it did come, the moment i needed it the most and i knew the church was true, i still had many questions for the church that i wanted answers to but i knew it was true and that everything i had been taught was true.

How I live my faith

I love doing service for member or non-members of my church, i try to do those as often as possible. usually those take place in the morning (service projects) so i hate waking up early for it when i can just sleep instead however when i get to the place im working at and start working i really enjoy it and never want to stop the service so it all pays off. I also am actively engaged in assisting families in my church to teach them and to take care of them when care is needed.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

When Christ was on the earth he created a church and called it his church, the church of Jesus Christ. When Christ was crucified His church was left in his disciples/apostles hands because they had the proper authority to lead Christ's church, however slowly the prophets were being killed and the proper authority was leaving because of that. also its important to note in 2 thess. 2:1-3 states that before Christ comes again, there must be a falling away. So the apostles or leaders of Christ church were being killed and the Authority to lead the church had gone away causing a falling away of Christs church. in the spring of 1820, a 14-year-old boy named Joseph Smith went into a grove of trees near his home in Palmyra, New York, and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him, just as heavenly beings had appeared to prophets like Moses and Paul in biblical times. Joseph learned that the Church originally organized by Jesus Christ during His mortal ministry was no longer on the earth. Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. During the next 10 years, Joseph was visited by other heavenly messengers, translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God, and received authority to organize the Church.
