Hi I'm Greg & Trisa

We love our Savior, being members of his Church - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and our family.

About Me

We are parents and grandparents and our best times are spent with our family. We live in a small community nestled in the mountains and enjoy exploring, 4-wheeling, and gathering wood in those mountains. Rex our English Bull Dog keeps us entertained playing ball, frizbee, and walking. His and our favorite walk is to the River Island near our home. Together we have built or remodeled all of our homes, and enjoy creating fun yards and gardens together. We enjoy serving our family and others especially with their handyman projects. We enjoy harvesting and preserving the food we grow (making fruit leather is our favorite). Greg spent years in the profession of Auto Body Repair, though he now works as a Hospital Maintenance Engineer, his love for cars has never feigned. In his free time he can be found working on one or more car projects. Some of his favorites have been helping his 2 daughters paint their first cars their favorite colors(sparkle blue and orange with green flames; restoring with his son a 1969 Ford Mustang; and now working on a Chevy stepside pickup with his grandsons. Trisa has worked many years in office and accounting work, and owned her own glass and paint store. She enjoys creating with paint, she and her children have painted rooms of music, plaid, retro, brick garden, marble, leather, Harry Potter etc. We love our Savior, family, friends, life, playing, working, creating and learning together.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many relgions and life paths in the world today and we have looked at and followed more than one for a time, but we have realized our parents taught us the truth. So after years away from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (often called Mormons) we have returned.because we know this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. One of our current Apostles (Elder Jeffery R. Holland) said it best. " Joseph (Smith) and His brother Hyrum would not have done what they did if it were not the truth." On God's errand, Joseph did restore the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, and it offers so much. We know from it's teachings that we are saved through Jesus' Atonement, but we must repent to avoid being punished for our own sins. We also know that there is more offered than Salvation it is exaltation (the opportunity to become just like God and continue our family relationships in the next life). If we are willing to make and keep the required covenants, it is possible for us just ordinary folks to obtain Exaltation. Gods greatest gif!.

How I live my faith

We are happy Jesus lived his life as a model for us to get through this Earth School. We strive to live like Jesus did, but we are human and make mistakes. Thank goodness Heavenly Father allowed us a Savior and that Jesus was willing to be that Savior and atone for our mistakes (sins). His gift has been so important in our lives, when we have truly repented of sins, his forgiveness relieves our burden from sin , frees us from a trap, and comforts us. Through prayer, as a family and individually, we give thanks to and seek guidance from our Father in Heaven (God). And many times God has provided the guidance we needed and at times the miracles we prayed for. The Bible, The Book of Mormon (another witness of Jesus Christ) and current revelations from our prophet (who is here to help us now) guide us daily as we read and apply them to our lives. We appreciate the opportunities The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (mormon church) offers us to teach and help administer the many different programs of the church. Together we have taught the Gospel of Jesus to the youth of this church, and we have each served in other capacities. These opportunities to serve help us learn and grow as we help others do the same. We both enjoy having our children, grandchildren and their friends, spend time in our home, and we have and do enjoy teaching them and learning from them. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is a lifetime commitment and longer.

Are Mormons Christians?

Greg & Trisa
Yes! The official name of the Mormon church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". And I would not be a member of this church if we were not Christians, because we personally know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and if He were not the cornerstone of our religion there would not be members and there would be no religion, because all the teachings of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints center upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and our father in Heaven's plan of which Jesus Christ is central. How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Greg & Trisa
The Book of Mormon, like the Bible is scripture. The Bible tells about the lives of those in and around Israel. While the Book of Mormon is the stories of people who crossed the ocean thousands of years ago and lived on the American Continents. Some of their descendants are the American Indians that were here when America was discovered. Some people in The Book of Mormon were descendants of Joseph (son of Jacob (Israel) from the Bible who was sold in to Egypt). The Book of Mormon tells of these peoples lives and their belief and faith in Jesus Christ. We love reading their stories, their struggles, the pain that followed their sins, and the happiness and triumphs they enjoyed when they lived according to God's plan. Those scripture stories from the Book of Mormon and The Bible help us understand how to live a life centered around Jesus teachings which is a life of Joy and happiness. Joseph Smith was called of God and given the plates which contained the records of these Ancient people in America. Joseph was then tasked with translating and printing their writings which became The Book of Mormon "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". And for us The Book of Mormon validates and compliments the Bible and helps us better understand God's Plan and Jesus' Atonement the greatest of all gifts. Show more Show less
