Hi I'm Kalie

I grew up in Idaho. I love to play the piano. I love being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a current college student and an Elementary Education major. I love the idea of being able to help children love learning as much as I do. Music has always been a big part of my life and I started playing the piano when I was in first grade and have been taking lessons ever since. I also play the violin and was in my high school orchestra. I love being outside on a beautiful day just enjoying the sun, or playing any type of sports, expecially soccer. Being on the high school soccer team was a great experiance for me and helped me to get enough exercise which is good because baking is another one of my hobbies. I may be just okay at cooking a main course, but if you want any type of dessert I can make it. My favorite are mint brownies. I am the middle child with an older brother and younger sister, and have an amazing mom and dad. I have been a Mormon all of my life and I love the Gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have realized that I am happiest when I am trying to do what is right. The amazing thing is that we have all been given the great gift of agency, and when we choose to do what is right the Lord will bless us with even more. I have seen those blessings come into my life as I have tried to live and keep the commitments that I have made as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The gospel just brings me so much happiness and peace. I believe that the peace that it brings into my life comes from knowing that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and that he knows me and loves me. Knowing that I can pray to him anytime and that he will always hear me and answer my prayer brings so much strength into my life. I am also a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read this book many times in my life and have prayed to know if it is true and I recieved my answer. I know that it is also possible for everyone who really wants to know of the truthfulness of this book too gain a testimony of it. My days always go better when I read the Book of Mormon. I know that this church contains the fullness of the gospel and that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the church and that we have a prophet on the earth today to help lead and guide us. I am just so thankful to know these truths and that because Jesus died for my sins, if I repent and try to always become more like him, I can return to live with God and my family for all eternity. This fills my life with so much reassurace that God has a plan for me and for all of his children. I am a Mormon because it brings me true joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a little better each day. I have had different church callings and I love how each one has helped me to grow. My most recent calling was as a sacrament meeting pianist. Since music is a great way to bring the spirit into a meeting, I was glad to put my yeas of piano practicing to good use. I have also been president of different young women groups which has taught me a lot. It was a good chance for me to plan activities that I thought would be uplifting for the girls and to be an example to others. Recently, I have been living my faith by trying my best to prepare for a mission. I get the chance to go and share my beliefs with others for a year and a half and I am so excited for this oppertunity.
