Hi I'm Samuel G. Peterson

I am from Salt Lake City. I love the outdoors, fine eats, learning, and slacklining. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of four children, I really love my family and they are the center of my life. I have been a Mormon my whole life, and I love all that this faith has given me. In my spare time I enjoy time with my family and friends, eating (usually until I am overly full), running about out-of-doors, thrift shopping, slacklining, and learning. One day I hope to become a Foreign Service Officer for the US State Department or a Professor of Religion (Abrahamic Religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity). I love to learn and read. I love service and I currently volunteer wherever and whenever I can. One of my passions is service; empowering others to gain a greater appreciation for, and find more joy in, there own life. I have worked with many service organizations through out my life. I feel that service is truly one of the greatest ways we can share our testimony with others and build our own faith in God. I love the outdoors; hiking, biking, camping, rock climbing, skiing, and especially slacklining... I enjoy it all! Living in Salt Lake is great, because my backyard is the Wasatch Mountains! I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it. I believe it and I know it. My belief in this faith is the driving force behind my conversion and the driving force behind my desire to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone in the world! I believe in Jesus Christ and I know that he lives, I believe in the power of Christ's atonement and I have felt it's transforming power in my life. I believe in the Book of Mormon and I believe in the power that the book holds in conversion and testimony of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is proof of the restoration of the Gospel and it is true! I believe that through obedience to the commandments of out Father in Heaven we can receive happiness and peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, I believe it and I know it. Is is truly the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ again on the earth in this day and age. I believe in Joseph Smith as the prophet who restored the gospel and I bear testament of him as a man and servant of God. This faith, being a Mormon, has given me everything that I love and everything that I hold dear to my heart. My faith is everything to me, and being a Mormon means more to me than I could ever express. It is true, I believe it, I know it, and I do my best to live it. That is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I live my faith to service to others. I love any opportunity I have to brighten someones day and share the light and love of Christ. I believe that if we can do anything to show the Lord we love him, it is through service to his children (Mosiah 2:17). That is why I am serving a mission! I am currently serving a two-year proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas McAllen area sharing Christs gospel in Spanish. I believe that serving a mission is a duty of all men of the church and that in order to be an obedient and worthy priesthood holder we must serve missions if possible. Obedience to God's commandments is center to living my faith as a Mormon. Through obedience to my faith I show my Heavenly Father that I love him and that I value the blessings he has granted me. I love my Father in Heaven, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ. Obedience is one way I show to the world and to God and Jesus Christ that I live my faith. Living obediently to the Laws and Ordinances of this Gospel, I am striving to become a more Christlike servant of my Lord while I sojourn here on Earth.
