Hi I'm Guizella

I grew up in Bolivia. I'm a chemist. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student going for a Masters in medicinal chemistry. I love being outdoors, especially by the mountains or the water. One of my favorite things to do all year round is fishing. I also enjoy a good movie or good board game. I love music and find myself cooking and baking quite often. I love working with people and helping them realize their potential in all aspects of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because in it I have found the gospel of Jesus Christ in its purest form. I believe in the Bible and in addition I also know the Book of Mormon to be true. I read and follow the teachings of both books of scripture as two testaments of Jesus Christ and His teachings. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and its simplicity. I love this church and will continue to be a member all my life because I have found the source of peace and love here. I also know that by following the teachings of the gospel I am a better person each day and I can become more and more like my loving Father in Heaven. There are so many reasons why I love this church. I will summarize it by saying that this church is in fact guided by Christ; He is at the head of it. His mouthpiece on earth is the prophet, dear President Monson. This church teaches everyone to come closer to Christ by utilizing all the tools that He has provided for us to come closer to Him and partake of His atonement and life eternal. I love this church and I know without a doubt that my Savior Jesus Christ lives. And because He lives I can also live through the gift of the atonement and the resurrection. I can live with Him forever in peace and love if I choose His path and partake of His atonement.

How I live my faith

My faith is one of the most important aspects of my life. It is embedded in who I am. Currently I ma the president of the women's organization in the young single adult branch of Buffalo. Together as sisters we participate in lessons every Sunday, fun/service activities every month and periodic conferences. We strive to help each other as well as our community by being good examples of Christian discipleship, and by helping others to come unto Christ. I really love the fact that everyone participates with responsibilities in all the different realms. Some are leaders, others teachers, some plan activities, other provide music. I've had the opportunity to teach children, to organize music for our services, organize events and activities, be a leader, etc. With these responsibilities I have grown in different aspects of my life and my faith and have developed many skills and talents through devoting time and effort into serving my brothers and sisters in the church as well as those who visited.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Guizella
We believe that the family is the center of God's plan for His children. We believe that the most important and sweetest associations here on earth and in the world to come are the relationships we have with our family. In addition, we believe that the bonds within the family are not only for this life but also for all eternity. This is the reason why we give so much importance to family relationships, because they are forever! There is much joy and consolation in knowing that families are forever when bound by the authority of the priesthood in a holy temple. I have lost many family members, including my dad. It was a somber time, and even though it's been a few years, I still miss him a lot. However, I do know without a doubt that I will see him again and all those who have passed on. I'll not only see them, but they will be mine forever. The family bonds are not going to be broken. My dad will always be my dad, and in heaven I will be with him. This life is just a short time compared to eternity, so while I miss him here, I know that my family, past, present and future will be with me always! Show more Show less
