Hi I'm Maren

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for the world around me. I want to go everywhere and see everything! I love visiting new places and meeting new people from around the world. I love learning new languages and learning all about foreign cultures. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ in Piracicaba, Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. However, at a certain point in my life, I made a very conscious decision for myself that I am a Mormon and will be for the rest of my life. As I approached my Heavenly Father in prayer, he bore witness to me that this is His church. And He continually reaffirms this each time I approach Him in prayer. I do not have a full and complete understanding of every bit of Mormon doctrine. But I do know that attending my church meetings, reading my scriptures, and praying to God daily make an enormous difference in my life and bring me so much peace. I know that when I am close to the Lord, I am happiest. Through many special and memorable experiences in my life, I have come to know with all of my heart that this is God's church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in so many ways. One way is through my church participation. Whether this means being a part of church activities, fulfilling church responsibilities, or attending church meetings, my religion is a priority in my life. Even when I am not at church or church activities, my faith completely defines who I am. I live my faith through everything that I do. I try to live my entire life so that those I encounter who do not know Christ will want to know him because they know me.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Maren
Absolutely not. We only worship deity: God the Eternal Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. However, we do acknowledge the prophet Joseph Smith. It was through him that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ restored the fullness of the gospel to this dispensation. He was the first prophet in the latter days and through him Christ reestablished His church, restored His priesthood, and brought forth the Book of Mormon. Thus, we greatly respect and admire the prophet Joseph Smith for his role in bringing forth Christ's true church, but we do not worship him. Show more Show less
