Hi I'm Landon

I live in Utah. I am Happy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four siblings, "one sister and three brothers." I have divorced parents who both have new spouses. I am currently serving as a missionary for the LDS church in the Houston Texas area (spanish speaking). I love to serve and I love to learn. I do what I can to serve every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I have been blessed because of my knowledge of its truth. I know that God is our Heavenly Father, and he loves us each unconditionally. I know that he can answer any of my questions and help me an any area of my life as long as I pray to him. I know that this is the true church because I have asked God for myself. I didnt look it up on the internet or ask the bishop of the church, I asked God. Of course it took some time to recieve my answer. I had to read in the Book of Mormon. I began to read the Book of Mormon because my dad challenged me to. After reading a few chapters in the book I felt good, but I didnt know if it was true. I couldnt just take the books word for it. So, like I said before, I prayed and asked God if it was true. Then I began to read again, from the begining. Thats when I knew that this is the true church. I felt my spirit burning so strong! (I later realized that was the spirit.) Thats why I am a mormon. And I know that anyone who asks God, and has a true desire to know; will know that this church is Christs true church, and will have a desire to come close to him through baptism.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the Atonement. I use the Atonement every day of my life to become a better person. It gives my life meaning when I use it in my life, and remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all of us.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Landon
We believe that all people must be baptized To fulfill all rightiousness (Matthew 3: 13-17) And to return to our loving Father in Heaven. Because not all people get the chance to be baptized, we do baptisms for the dead because we want everyone to have the chance to fulfill all rightiousness. We want all of our heavenly family to have an equal chance at eternal happiness with our Father in Heaven. After baptisms for the dead, the spirits have a chance to accept or reject the baptism, just like we do in life. I have a hope that all might accept baptism and partake in the eternal gift of joy that God has prepared for us. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Landon
The loss of someone you love can be hard, But we know that families can be together forever. In (Matthew 16:19) It says that "whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose in earth shall be loosed in heaven." God has given us families so we can experiance joy. Because he loves us so much, he has given us a way to be with them for Eternity. That way is through repenting of your sins through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, baptism by water and the spirit from someone holding authirity from God, remaining active in the church and eventually getting sealed for eternity in the temple. I know that through those steps you can be with your family forever and that it is the only way to recieve true happiness in the life to come. Show more Show less
