Hi I'm Kimberly

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Montevideo Uruguay West mission!

About Me

I grew up in Seattle, Washington with three sisters and no brothers. You may say, "your poor dad..." but that is not true. He admits all the time that he is pretty lucky...as long as there is at least a moment of silence from the girl drama that comes and goes. No family is perfect but we all love each and love to do family activities with one another. I have a very strong relationship with my parents as well as my sisters. I have learned many valuable lessons from them throughout my life. Family means a lot to me and I know that they make me strong. Other than spending time with my family, I love to play guitar and write songs about life. I love staying healthy and enjoy running, socializing with friends and especially getting to know others on a deeper level to understand and hear about their life story and their accomplishments. I also love traveling, teaching, serving others and being with my family. I love trying new things and going places I have never gone before. I love to be outside in the sun to enjoy nature and God's creations. I love life and am excited for the adventures that are ahead. My current adventure that I am preparing for in my life right now is to serve a mission as I have been assigned to serve in the Uruguay Montevideo West mission to teach others about the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the gospel by parents of faith. My mom was raised in the gospel as my dad converted to the gospel in his 20's. I was raised by strong parents who wanted to teach me right from wrong. They taught me how to be a good person and taught me that I was a child of our Heavenly Father. Though I was raised in the gospel, I still needed to find out for myself if the gospel was true. When I was in middle school and high school I desired to come closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I wanted to know who I was. As I had the desire, I knew I needed to act upon my desires to find out if it was true. As I prayed, attended church and ESPECIALLY as I studied the Book of Mormon with an open and humble heart, I came to know for myself that this was the true gospel! Through prayerful studying of the Book of Mormon and keeping the Lord's commandment, I have felt a happiness that cannot be felt in any other way. Through this happiness and joy, I have seen my life change for the better because of the Book of Mormon and by keeping the Lords commandments. Through studying the foundation of the gospel which is the Book of Mormon, I have felt a kind joy that uplifts the soul. It brings a peace that will comfort the heart. I know that there is no greater happiness or joy that can be found than through His gospel which is The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Through my own study, pondering and prayer, I have been able to feel of my own worth that I am a daughter of God and that we are all his children. As I have gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon I have learned that there is so much more to life than going through the worldly motions. There is purpose. There is a loving God above. By the powerful truth of the Book of Mormon, by the powerful joy, by the knowledge that God loves and has a plan of purpose for me and each of his children on earth is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by making sure I have a close relationship with the Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I do this by praying morning and night to my Heavenly Father. I tell him my struggles, my worries but I also tell him things that I am grateful for. I tell him my desires and what I want to accomplish each day. As I pray to Heavenly Father daily, I feel peace and joy as I communicate with Him, knowing that he is listening. I also live my faith by trying to live like Jesus Christ. As the Bible and the Book of Mormon teach about Christ's life I life my faith by studying Christ's life through the scriptures. I live my faith by trying to be life Christ as I try to study and life by the attributes he exemplified such as faith, hope, charity and love, virtue, knowledge, patience, humility, diligence, and obedience. By studying the Book of Mormon each day I come to know of how I can obtain these attributes of Jesus Christ. I also live my faith by attending church. As I attend church, I am reminded every Sunday about what is most important in life. Throughout the week life gets busy with work and other obligations. But as I attend church, it gives me the opportunity to refocus and evaluate my life. It also helps me feel comforted that others who are attending are there to feel of God's love and guidance as well. The more I study and learn about this gospel of Christ the more it becomes a part of me.
