Hi I'm Hannah Boyd

I am a happy, outgoing 26 year old and happily married . I run a nursery for children aged 0-5 years and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My life is quite a busy one. I work full time and also do some babysitting in the evenings and sometimes do a bit of cleaning for friends. I have a husband who works in the building trade and we have two cats. I don't actually have any children of my own at the moment but i have married the love of my life and have three beautiful step-children who we spend lots of time with. My role as a nursery manager is very demanding and the hours are long but i find the role extremely rewarding and wouldn't change it for the world. When i do manage to find some spare time, i enjoy singing and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy baking cakes for others and doing things for other people. This makes me really happy.

Why I am a Mormon

It seems strange to say it now but i had never actually even heard of the book of Mormon until last year. I grew up in a small village out in the sticks and there wasn't any Mormons who lived there and i don't think any missionaries came that way either. I moved into a town in my early teens and met my husband (partner at the time) when i was 21 years old. We had a happy relationship and life, living together but found it hard to cope with difficult times and situations. In 2012 we were struggling more than ever to 'keep our heads above the water' as the saying goes, and could not seem to pull ourselves out of the dark. We began to be taught by the missionaries and i learnt more and more about the principles of the gospel and what it was all about. I was invited to ask if the Book of Mormon was true and one night I decided I wanted to know for myself. I now am strong in my faith and don't know where i would be without it. I pray everyday and continuously feel the love of my father in heaven. I know that some people find it hard to understand (and i used to be one of those) but now that i have had the experiences that i have and know what i know, it has changed my whole perspective on life. I am much more content in the ways of the world and am not scared any more.

How I live my faith

I converted to the church last year and would never go back. I have learnt the importance of family and love for others and I now have a new found respect for life on earth. In my church i am a 'young women's leader' which means i teach lessons and support the young women as best i can. I am there for them as a friend and try to be the best role model i can be to them at all times. This has been fantastic and has taught me so much. I also recently joined, and now participate in the church choir, and help to run youth activities on a Thursday evening, with the help of the other leaders.
