Hi I'm Lofton Bean

I´m a Texan. I´m an athlete. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I´m from the good ole state of Texas. I am the oldest child of four. I have a younger brother, and two younger sisters. My dad and mom are my rock and example and support in all areas of my life: sports, church, etc. I play football- high school quarterback, looking to continue football career after two-year mission, and I'm a sports enthusiast. I am preparing to serve a 2 year mission in Brasilia, Brazil after high school graduation. July 24, 2013-2015. I love my family/friends and this gospel!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a member of the Church my entire life. It has brought great joy to me and my family. I know the Church is true, with all my heart. That the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It gives me guidance and has great examples of people who have battled adversity and been heroic. By living faithfully, the blessings you receive are endless, and it brings true happiness into your life. You know that you have a purpose here on Earth and that if you are true and faithful to the commandments and convenants you have made, you know you will return to live with Heavenly Father with your loving family. Eternal families is one of the most amazing parts about the gospel, and I am so grateful that God has blessed us to have that knowledge. Being a Mormon has truly blessed my life and given me high standards for me to live by. I wouldn't sacrifice two years of my life on a mission if I had any doubt that it wasn't true. It has made me who I am.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to my friends, family, and any one I meet. I enjoy sharing my testimony and the gospel with my friends and people in my community. I get questioned a lot about me serving a mission from people at school and in the community; it gives me a great opportunity to express my beliefs and let people know what mormons are really about since there are very few in my area. I enjoy serving people and seeing them feel that love and joy. I look for different ways to have missionary opportunities, and I try to be that rock for people to lean on. I love the state of Texas and the opportunities I have had to grow up there and make friends with those of different faiths.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Lofton Bean
The Book of Mormon is evidence of God´s love for all of his children. During bibical times, there were people living here in the Americas as well. God showed his love for them and called prophets to lead and guide them. To help them keep the commandments and know of God´s eternal love for them. These ancient prophets wrote of their ministry and the commandments they were given. They focused on the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who was to be born in Jerusalem and after his atoning sacrifice and ressurection, would then visit them in the Americas. After the visitation of Jesus Christ in the Americas, the people truly knew Him to be the Savior of the world and the prophets continued to preach and write of the divinity of Christ. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Studied, along with the Bible, you have the fulness of the Gospel. The one testifies of the other. They, in unity, testify that Jesus Christ lives and loves us and through his atoning sacrifice and love, we all have an opportunity to return to the presence of God and live with our familes forever. You truly can know if it is all true, by sincerely asking God through sincere prayer. Show more Show less
