Hi I'm Jordan

Born and raised in AZ, I'm a basketball fanatic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I was baptized when I was 13 but wouldn't considered myself converted to the gospel until I decided to serve a mission. I'm leaving on my mission to El Salvador on June 12th. I love sports especially basketball, I could play basketball all day if possible! I love chillin with my friends, I honestly don't know where I'd be without them. I'm definitely a dog person, but they cant be small, its all about those great danes, labs and golden retrievers. I love food, eating and cooking, definitely hobbies, I really enjoy discovering new recipe's. I especially love relaxing and listening to some good vibe music, like Jack Johnson, Andy Grammar, and a little Bob Marley if theres time. I enjoy long boarding and long walks on the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was born into a broken family, my Mom and Dad were never married, never a couple, never together. Both had a lot of problems with drugs and alcohol and things of that sort, it got so bad for my mom that she was in and out of jail through most of my life and when I was in 6th grade she passed away, my dad is bi-polar and can't take care of himself let alone a child, so I moved in with my aunt, uncle and their three children in 4th or 5th grade. They were Mormon. They brought me to church, where I found a great group of friends who set a great example for me. In 6th grade I took lessons from the missionaries and got baptized. But I didn't develop a testimony of my own until the end of high school and especially after graduation when I decided to serve a mission. I have a testimony that this church is true, I look back at my life and wonder where would I be if I hadn't gotten baptized? Definitely unhappy with my life, maybe in jail, maybe even dead. I am so grateful for the choices I've made in my life that has gotten me to where I am today. I know that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ! I have felt some of the hardships of life at a young age and I have been able to overcome them through this gospel, and I cannot express the love and happiness and truth that comes from being a member of this church online. But I can promise you that if you give the missionaries a moment of your time that you will feel the happiness that I do. I know that if you pray with real intent to find out for yourself if this church is true, that you will find that this is the Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Like I previously said, I am leaving on a mission on June 12, 2013 to El Salvador, spanish speaking, I report to the Guatemala MTC. I took two years of spanish in school so needless to say, I don't know any spanish. About two years ago I was assigned to be on the youth committee representative of my ward. Basically I planned and lead all the events that the youth would participate in for that year. I participate in family history once a week, because I'm one of the first and only members in my family, I've started from scratch on my family tree but have come pretty far from when I first started. I attend the Temple regularly, its a great place to go and get away from the world, even sitting outside you feel a sort of calmness and a happiness that can't be denied.
