Hi I'm David Cope

My name is David. I'm kind of crazy. I'm a missionary for life! I know that God loves me. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up far from civilization in the back woods of Florida. I was home-schooled for the last four years of my education. I was baptized when I was eight years old but was not always an active member in the church. Even after gaining a testimony from the Holy Ghost when I was younger, it wasn't till I was about 18 that I became serious about church. I left home in May of 2013 to serve a mission in Southeastern Idaho. I am currently serving in Idaho Falls. I know that the Lord has a plan for my life and for those we meet each day. He knows all things and can do all things, and if he commands us, we can do anything.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I have asked my Father in Heaven if I should be. I feel His love daily and know He speaks to men still. I have a personal testimony that He answers prayers. I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and know that this is His church restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I try to follow my Savior and remember Him at all times. I try to be uplifting to friends and strangers alike. I know that despite my imperfections, the Lord allows me to help others the best I can.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

David Cope
Yes, I believe in the Bible. It was from reading James, chapter 1 verse 5, that Joseph Smith was inspired to pray and to ask God, the question that had been troubling him. I recently finished reading the Bible and what stuck out to me is how nothing we believe disagrees with it. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

David Cope
Well the fact that you and I even exist is pretty good reason to believe that God exist. Mathematically we are impossible. Yet here we are. I love star gazing. I love looking up at the night sky and seeing all the stars. But we only see an incredible small percentage of the known universe. The universe is so big, and we are so small. Yet here we are. How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

David Cope
Well, I myself am a missionary, so I give you the best answer I've got. Talk to the missionaries! We don't bite. We are assigned all over the world in a bazillion different countries. Even the United States! Everyone is invited to attended church with us on Sunday and I'm pretty sure members of the church in your area of the world don't bite! Show more Show less
