Hi I'm Michael

I'm from England. Formerly a vehicle technician and currently a Company Buyer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up with a massive interest in cars and motorsport. I'm a qualified vehicle technician and thoroughly enjoy working on motors in my spare time. At the moment I'm a company buyer for an engineering firm which designs and builds custom, bespoke machinery. Outside of my job, I'm studying Business / Accounting at university. I'm also a traction power kiter and get out to the beach when the wind and sun is out (not very often in England!!!) There, I get pulled on my 3 wheeled buggy at speeds of up to 40 mph. I'm married and a father of one boy, soon to be two! I love them with all my heart, they mean the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a devoted Latter-day Saint family who have taught me good principles to which I have applied throughout my life. Although I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I had to gain my own understanding and knowledge of it's truthfulness. Before I came to know of it's truthfulness, I hadn't always lived my faith as I should and consequently made decisions that affected my life for the worse. There was a point in my life that I felt I should turn around and find out for myself if God actually existed. I began praying to this 'being' and at first felt nothing. However, when nothing else was important and I sincerely saught to know, I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace, warmth and happiness. These feelings I recognised came from the Holy Spirit. Over time, my relationship with God - our eternal heavenly father has grown and I know he answers my prayers through the Holy Ghost. I prayed to know whether the Book Of Mormon was true and if it was true, then The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must also be true. As before, my prayer was answered through the comforter and I was overwhelmed with joy and peace. I now know that God is real, that this is the Lord's church restored on the earth today and anyone who sincerely prays to know, will come to know of it's truthfulness. As stated in James 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him'. I know that families can be together forever, I know that Jesus Christ lives, I know that he suffered and died for each of us that we may overcome the obstacle of sin and death. This is his church, and It is my prayer that you will be blessed by coming to know of its truth for yourself.

How I live my faith

I have always been taught to serve others and put others before me. You only have to read the new Testament to realise the importance of this from the example of Jesus Christ. 'Love thy neighbour as thyself'. When I'm travelling around, I try to help others in need. Whether it be fixing a broken down vehicle or simply opening the door for someone. At church, I teach the youth the principles of the Gospel in hope that they too will emulate the example of our Saviour Jesus Christ. At home, my wife and I teach these gospel principles to our son. I strive to speak with everyone around me about the Gospel, mainly because I have felt great happiness and seen miracles when living it. Also, the principles taught are significantly important to our day and age.
