Hi I'm Landon!

I don't have 3 wives, I drink caffeine, a gifted napper & self-made thousandair... vicariously living through myself. Im a Mormon.

About Me

Born at a young age, a man of mystery and power.... whose power is exceeded only by his mystery... Ha. Hi. I'm a 20 yr. old kid at heart who grew up kicking it in California, New York, and Utah. I am currently serving a mission in Edmonton Canada. I've come to love it here... even though adjusting to the environment was challenging at first... -40 degree weather and living in an igloo was a bit different for me... I have been learning Mandarin Chinese for the past 20 months... which... being white.. or more importantly... un-asian... has been all sorts of difficult. I Have really fell in love with the culture and people though, which has made learning the language much easier. Side note: while learning Mandarin I have seen exponential growth in my ping pong skills and the amount of rice I eat. I played soccer for 10+ years.... taught myself to play the guitar and formed a band with my best friends... we weren't anything special but had a lot of fun. And let's be real... I really only learned the guitar to try and impress girls. I also enjoy paragliding, wakeboarding, Dr Pepper, meat-eating, Costco chocolate muffins, humorous cat shirts, Otter Pops, listening to ridiculous indie music, candy/general sugar consumption, long car rides, adventures with friends, attempting (....and failing) food challenges with others, stupid stupid humor, and trying new things. My family is the world to me. I have 2 younger sisters and a younger brother. They're my goons. I love them lots :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Latter-Day Saint family with parents that both had strong testimonies of the truth of this church, but I still consider myself to be a convert to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..... I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and have received a personal answer from God that it is true. Through prayer, I have come to know that God is truly my living, eternal father, who loves me very much and wants me to be happy. I am a Mormon because the teachings of this church have helped give me direction and purpose in an otherwise meaningless life. This church is centered on Christ and His teachings..... which is everything to me. Everything that brings me true, lasting happiness in this life has been connected to Him. This church helps me to find more beauty in the world around me, have more meaningful relationships with my family and friends, find peace and comfort at the lowest times in my life, and gives me hope in a bright future. I have found a new heart through Christ and have become a new person through my Faith. I know who I am, what I am, and what my purpose is because of this church.

How I live my faith

Because of the faith I have developed in Jesus Christ, my heart has changed. I have come to have a greater understanding for the purpose of this life, a more positive outlook on everything around me, a greater love for my friends and family, a bigger smile, and more drive to act.... to live my religion..... to "walk the talk" as they say. I have chosen to put schooling on hold, temporarily say goodbye to friends and family, and leave behind some of the things I like to do in order to serve a mission for the next two years of my life. Though it is a sacrifice.... we sacrifice for what we love..... and I love the people I get to serve here in Canada..... and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through it, I have found my greatest joys and deepest feelings of peace. What an incredible blessing it is to share what I love with people. I have hope that we can save others, while being saved ourselves. I try to live my faith in all I do...... through my interactions with those around me and through all the decisions I make everyday. But.... like everyone else, I have weaknesses and imperfections. These hinder me from being exactly who I want to be, but it is a process, and I have faith that through Jesus Christ's atonement, I can improve and am enabled to become more like Him. I believe life is a process of continually creating the person you want to be..... and it is important to me to find happiness in the journey.
