Hi I'm Matt Pelo

I'm a full time missionary currently serving in New Zealand, basketball college athlete, and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I stand at 6" foot 3' inches on a normal day, but never stand higher than when i am kneeling in prayer. There are 10 Kids in my family with two loving parents who have taught me right from wrong ever since i can remember. I am the middle child, and obviously mums favorite! I got the stature of my father, and everything else good from my mother. (So my dad would say) All sports i love, but ballet and soccer are not the ones i excel at. Basketball is my passion, and anything that pushes me to become better and work harder i will gladly except and try to smile along the way. My favorite subjects in school where P.E and Lunch. I was home-schooled through my high school years which gave me many opportunities to travel and experience a plethora of jobs and hobbies. i later attended Snow college in Ephraim Utah while playing on the basketball team. The greatest blessing that i have ever received is centered on my family. They are the most important thing to me, and have made me who i am today, and will make me who i am throughout eternity. The gospel of Jesus Christ and all that it entails is what i hope will one day describe me. The reason that i am a mormon is not because of who i am, but because of who i know i can be.

Why I am a Mormon

many times in my life i have asked myself "if there is a true church on the earth and if i could find out, why wouldn't i?" Many people in this world think that ignorance is bliss...well i believe the opposite. I heard about the challenge that Moroni (one of the prophets of old) gives in the closing pages of the Book of Mormon. he claims that if you want to know and if you ask with a sincere heart wanting to act upon the answer you get that God will tell you through the power of the holy ghost if the Book or mormon is the word of God. So i said "challenge excepted". I got my answer, and it was the strongest thing i have ever experienced. My relationship with God is growing everyday and i know i am doing what he wants me to.

How I live my faith

We all face challenges and difficulty in many ways. Some more extreme then others, and some more regularly. I would say that "living" is doing our best to overcome all of these. How i live my faith is by constantly applying the teachings of Christ to every circumstance of life. From somethings as simple as a prayer of gratitude at the start of each meal, to something as big as 10% of all my increase given back to the Lord, I live my faith by faith. Actions speak louder then words. As a current full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints i live everyday by doing my best to share a message that can be observed, heard, read, and felt. There are many ways to live but non as rewarding as knowing that your heavenly father is pleased with what you're doing today!
