Hi I'm Jessica Nicole

I am a BYU student, a musician, a returned missionary from England, a daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children in a family who's best friends are each other! Family is important to me. I love wasting my days away at the beach, and appreciating all types of music. I believe that happiness is a choice. I have a strong conviction in being who you are and loving every moment of it.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or as others most commonly refer to as 'Mormon', has being the greatest blessing in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ means exactly what it says: the teachings and doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ. This gospel challenges me to be a better person, every day. It teaches me that I have a purpose here on Earth, and that my Heavenly Father loves me enough to provide a way to return back to him through the Savior. It challenges me to do the things necessary to be able to return to live with Him, and to develop a relationship with Him. Through living the gospel's principles, I can say that I know Christ. I know He lives. I know that He died for me, as well as each of us. I know that He knows me better than anyone else, even better than I think I know myself. He is always there for me, as my older brother and my Redeemer. I am so grateful for this knowledge that I know I could have only received through this gospel! His gospel! This gospel, being a Mormon, brings me so much happiness. That's what it's all about- making the momentary decisions that will bring an everlasting happiness. Being Mormon doesn't mean you won't have those tough moments of life. It doesn't mean that you won't get thrown to your knees from time to time. But it has taught me to stay on my knees during those difficult times and pray to my Heavenly Father for help and guidance, and peace. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Thinking back on my life, my biggest involvement has always been music. I have strengthened my faith and inspired others to do the same through sharing my musical talent. I believe that music can change people's lives as powerful as words can, if not more. Performing musical numbers in sacrament meeting has always been my own way of expressing my testimony to others. The feelings generated by music are indescribable, as it touches hearts in ways most perfect for the Spirit to communicate through. Other than music, I would have to say that being an example of my Savior Jesus Christ is right up there next to music. With each of us having the light of Christ within us, we have a responsibility to share it and act in a way representative of our Lord. Having grown up in southern California, I have had many friends that don't share the same faith as I do- giving me many opportunities to be an example to them and stand for my beliefs and values, even if it means standing alone.
