Hi I'm Andrew Kim

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado. I love sports, both watching and playing. I'm a father of three girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to an amazing wife and a father of three beautiful girls, ages 7, 5, and 2. They are the passion of my life. I also have a rewarding, but demanding job that makes it difficult sometimes to balance spending time with my family and providing for them. I have been working for five years at one of the big 4 accounting firms as a financial statement auditor. I love my job, but it can be extremely stressful and time consuming. I find some fulfillment in doing a good job at work, but it certainly pales in comparison to taking care of my family at home. When not working and hanging out with the family, I love sports. I was athletic at one point in my life, and maintain a joy from playing basketball when time and priorities permit, but those moments seem fewer and farther in between over time. I do also love watching sports and discussing them with my dad, brothers, and friends. I love BYU basketball and football, which is my alma mater, and I also love the two Denver sports teams. For you Bronco fans out there, the two Bronco playoff games that I have attended in my life were the 1997 game against Jacksonville, and the 2013 game against Baltimore. I know, I should be banned from going to any more Bronco playoff games, but that may not happen. Finally, I love to make people laugh. I don't take myself too seriously and find great joy in laughing with family and friends. Life in general, has been, and continues to be, very good to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the happiness that the teachings of the church have, and can bring into my life. These teachings are centered on Jesus Christ, and have provided me with the opportunity and ability to obtain a personal relationship with him. I have grown to know that he loves me, cares about me and my family. Through my relationship with Him, cultivated through prayer and acting in faith, I have come to know that he leads The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church), and I want to be a part of His church. I have come to know, through countless spiritual confirmations, that this Church is His church. I am also a Mormon because it answers the questions related to why I am on the earth, what its purpose is, and where I am going after I die. I know that I will be with my wife and my family beyond this life, and this knowledge provides the appropriate perspective that allows me to stay grounded in my life, and to place the proper attention on things that are of eternal significance.

How I live my faith

Hopefully I live my faith in everything that I do. I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ reveals the answer to every question, solves every problem, and can enter into every aspect of our lives. I try to be kind, service oriented, to be honest, and to care about other people in the things that I do. The most important of the ways that I live my faith is by the example that I set in my own home. While I certainly fall short at times, I strive to lead my family in love and kindness. I strive to teach my children to be kind, hard working, independent, and to face adversity with faith and a good attitude. I also teach a class of young men and young women every Sunday at church between the ages of 16 and 18. I love these young people and are amazed by their faith and how they stand up for what is right in the group of their peers. These classes are based on scripture, and are faith promoting. I attend church each and every Sunday, and read my scriptures every day. I am currently in the middle of reading the new testament in the Bible, and love reading the stories of Jesus. I try to set goals as to how I can apply His teachings and His example every day at my job and in my home.
