Hi I'm Kurt

I'm a Soldier. I've lived in 8 states and 2 foreign countries. I love to be active and outside and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of four children. I love the joy from my family. I enjoy sporting events and participating in my own activities. Although my mother joined the church when I was young, I never really went until I was college age. Once I realized the happiness the gospel gave me, it was a constant strength to me. I served as a Mormon missionary. I consider myself to be a fairly average guy who makes his living in the Army and I do the best I can everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because I know the teachings to be true. I know that family relationships can continue beyond the grave and I know that Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to overcome our weaknesses and constantly improve. The church provides me direction and stability. I have been in many circumstances in my life where I know that the spirit of the Lord has guided me and provided me comfort. The church provides me the tools I need to become a better person, better father and husband. In the end, this is the true and most correct church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life each day as Jesus would; I try to be nice, recognize the value others have, seek to be polite and generally believe in making the world a better place. I work with the youth in the church by attending activities with them during the week and participating in their lessons on Sundays. I do my very best to be a good citizen and follow the rules of my community, state and nation. I teach my children about God and Jesus Christ and I give them chances to attend church functions. I pay offerings for those who are not as fortunate as myself. Above all, I try to be thankful for the things I have and am willing to share with others. The church is not something I just do, but the gospel of Jesus Christ is a lifestyle. I would hope those around me see me as an example and can learn of what makes me happy.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Kurt
I enjoy the family I have now, I want to be with them after I die as well. I lost my father when I was young. Once I learned of the church teachings about the eternal nature of the family, I believed I could see him again. The sealing power is unique to the Mormon faith, the authority exists so I can be with my family after this life ends. Show more Show less
