Hi I'm Carlos Yoneliunas

I grew up Catholic, studied astrophysics, got into personal development, started my own business and now I'm Mormon

About Me

22 years old and serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However I did not grow up with this dream at all! In fact 2 years ago I would have laughed if you told me that I would be out spreading the restored gospel to the world! I am crazy into astrophysics, rock climbing and learning about influence, I find the best way to relax at night is to some music or reading (As a Man Thinketh, The Wizard of Earthsea and The Particle at the End of the Universe were my last 3 reads). I am currently dating the most beautiful girl in the world who is also serving a spanish speaking mission. I also drive trains until I build my up my Real Estate portfolio.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was Catholic - Devote Catholic, I was an alter boy, usher and at one point in time thought about become a priest after seeing Constantine... But there was always something missing... Now of course I had and still have a powerful testimony of the Catholic Church, however I could not deny the fact that some truths were missing... So many people would defend Catholism to their last breath, but nothing on earth can get them to stay at church for past Communion when they did attend for two times they go each year, and fewer still have even read a full Chapter in the Bible! When I met the Missionaries I was... Less open than the average person. I argued with them, I pulled scripture on them, I was pretty rude now that I think of it.... Man those guys were patient... But that all changed the first time I went to church. It was a Fast and Testimony Sunday (The first Sunday of each month we fast for 2 meals and donate the money to charity and are invited to share our testimony instead of listening to speakers). I remember being annoyed at finding out that the service is for 3 hours! So much for my lunch plans... Something happened in that hour though... I saw a grown man go up to the pulpit and bust into tears before he said a single word... I saw a 9 year old girl yell how much she loves her brothers no matter how much they pull her hair... and after my friend bore his testimony... I realized there is something here... Today I can testify that This IS his Church, restored on the Earth, I am a Mormon, and the only way I know it is true is because I asked Heavenly Father if this the church with ALL the Truth.

How I live my faith

Well, I find that the biggest thing I noticed once I became a Mormon was the power of the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). It wasn't a new feeling, I had felt the influence of the Holy Spirit in my life before that many times, but it was so different to feel his presence all the time! And because of that I always strive to listen and heed the promptings I am given. Sometimes it doesn't make sense... but always my life is blessed because of it! My life is so incredible, I have grown more as a person and spiritually in the last 18 months than the previous 20 years combined! The Gospel is the ultimate Personal Development guide, It contains all the answers on how to have deeper relationships and marriages, how to be successful in careers and business, and ultimately how to try to reach your ultimate potential as a child of God! I am right now serving a mission because of the blessings I have received... My family has grown closer and my life has so much direction and meaning that I never thought was possible before! I am so grateful and the least I can do is share the blessings I have received with other people!
