Hi I'm EmmaLee

I grew up in Utah. I play seven musical instruments. I helped build a school in Peru. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a college student for the past year. I struggled selecting a major and deciding what I wanted to do with my life. I have a passion for music and also for written language. I decided to serve a full time mission and now I am looking forward to sharing what I know to be true with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is very active in the church. My family participated in the Hill Cumorah and Nauvoo pageants for many years but it wasn't until I went to Peru on a humanitarian trip that I realized what the church meant to me. It was difficult to be in a country where I didn't understand the language and was completely reliant on someone else to guide me. I had the opportunity to visit another Mormon meeting there and even though I didn't understand what was being said, I felt at home because the same good feeling of comfort and joy was present in the meeting in Peru. No matter where you go the church stays the same. The people and the language may be different but the message and the feeling remain the same.

How I live my faith

I have been playing the organ in church since I was fourteen. Since I have moved home from college I have been helping out a lot by teaching the children ages two through four in the nursery program. I love their happiness and their enthusiasm.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

EmmaLee
I attribute the growth of the Church to its truthfulness. Something about the gospel rings true in the hearts of many people that hear its message. It offers peace in times of unrest, hope in times of darkness, and comfort in times of struggle. Knowing that you have a Savior that lived and died for you is a beautiful gift. Having the knowledge that someone loves you enough to have given his life for you provides comfort. There is a joy that comes from knowing that there was a life before this and that there is a life after this where we live eternally with our loved ones. The Church will continue to grow and move forward as long as there are people who seek answers and recognize the truth in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
