Hi I'm Laura Pickering

I live in the UK, I'm a wife, a mother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mum, I get to relive all of my fond childhood memories again and I think my little boy is amazing, the best boy in the world. I like to cook and make cakes, I also enjoy being creative and doing a bit of DIY. I like to learn about the world, I like travelling and ticking off places I've been on a map. I am a bit of an eco friendly hippie, a vegetarian and into recycling. Before I had my son I worked as an architectural technician, but when I eventually go back to work I'd like to work in charity.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon and I haven't had a big event happen in my life to make me stay with it. For me it's been a constant in my life that has made me happy, feel secure and has given me a plan for my whole life. It encourages me to set goals and to become more, as I have grown older I can see what I have achieved and what I have yet to achieve. I know it's the best place to be as it feels right, the things I learn I know are true and I believe they happened. I know we're not left alone and we have a God who is there for us and cares about us individually. I have a happy life and feel that I've been blessed with so much.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life by being a good example to others around me, in what I do and say. I like to have an open door policy where any one is welcome and there's always some good food to enjoy. I teach the teenagers from the Church early morning in my home about the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It was hard getting up so early at first, but now it's great and I love it, the teenagers are fun to be with and we all learn so much together.
