Hi I'm Helen

I live in North Wales. I work as a nursery nurse with new born babies and their mums, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am mum of 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. I have always worked with children in schools and childcare settings as a nursery nurse. Before I was married I worked as a nanny in London. I have a wonderful husband and we have been been married for 21 years. I love chocolate, reading, walking and watching films. Most of all I love spending time with my family. When I was a teenager I became the Welsh Judo champion, but am not participating in this sport now, but I love to watch it. When I have the time I love to sew and bake cakes. I have been a school governor for many years and have helped on all the parent teacher groups.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was younger I took up the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and to pray to know if it was true. As I read and prayed I felt within my heart that it was true. As have grown older and applied the teachings that I have been taught and learned in my life, always I have been blessed and have found great joy and happiness in following the teachings of the Saviour. I have had questions but as I have studied and prayed I have always found the answers, until I do I continue with faith as I have had an answer to my prayers that this is the Church of Jesus Christ, restored in it's fullness through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Sometimes I have studied and prayed for a long time to find my answers but I always have. I love being a Mormon and love my life.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in many different ways. I enjoy visiting each ,month with sisters in my area. I have been teaching an early morning study class to the youth of the church for 10 years now. Our classes are held at 6.30am each school day, during the school term time. I love teaching these classes. I have also had the opportunity to be the president of the children's organization, the young women's organization and the women's organization during my time as an adult member of the church. 1987-1989 I was able to serve a full time mission for the church in Scotland. This was a great experience. In our family we read from the Book of Mormon each day and have a family prayer. Each Monday we enjoy a family night together, where we take it in turns to teach each other about Jesus Christ and His gospel and then spend time in a family activity.
