Hi I'm Benjamin Walls

Raised in Cali and now in Fiji, I love being a Mormon and a missionary.

About Me

I love being a Mormon and attend BYU-I. I found the church when my father was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident that left him permanently disabled and in and out of the hospital to this day. I came to know this church was true through personal commitment and prayer. This church has helped me a lot in my life with so many decisions in my life, conflicts, and the passing of my mother. I love to go off-roading, learning any subject and love helping others. I'm studying to become a high school history teacher. I have aspirations to become an officer in the U.S. Army and have a high moral standing. I show respect and discipline to all and expect the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a convert at 13. This church has the restored gospel in its full glory. It helps me with questions i have and has helped me through the most difficult times in my life. When I live the gospel I find that my life is much happier than when im "following the crowd." The Holy Ghost is the only spirit that can impress you to know if this church is true and the Holy Ghost has shown me that this church is true and we have a living prophet, that the scriptures are living scriptures and we continue to receive revelation in these latter-days. The scriptures are give insight on how we may face the challenges of today. As a History major i'm a firm believer that history can and will repeat itself and knowing what may happen is better than knowing nothing at all.

How I live my faith

I attend church services and attend all church events. I help with my group as a secretary, organizing meetings and checking on church members. I pray and read my patriarchal blessing and holy scriptures often. I'm on a mission in the beautiful Fiji islands. I preach the restored gospel, however I was preaching the gospel before i was even set apart as a full time missionary. I loved going on mission splits with the missionaries of my ward. It provided me an opportunity to really see the spirit in my life.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Benjamin Walls
While the church has practiced polygamy in the past, it does not practice nor condone polygamy. In fact the time period in which this commandment was given to the mormons made it necessary for polygamy as women had little rights nor a way (if any) to provide for themselves or their families. They wouldnt have been able to gain the provisions needed to make the trek to Salt Lake without a husband. While it may be seen as a "sexual perversion" i know that it was more of a necessity. The thought that it was all about sex adds as a testament to the moral degradation of today's world. Show more Show less
