Hi I'm Kaylee

I am a New Zealand Singaporean and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As my mum grew up as city girl from Singapore and my dad was a farm boy who grew up on the hill sides of New Zealand, I have been privileged to live in both of these amazing countries. I have loved going on outdoor adventures with my dad; fishing, hiking, and camping but equally enjoy hitting the shops with my mum and eating all the Asian delicacies Singapore has to offer. I was also privileged to serve a mission for the church in Singapore and Malaysia, increasing my love for this part of the world where I was able to serve amoung the amazing Iban and Chinese people. I grew up speaking Mandarin but also learnt the Malay language while serving in Malaysia, so I am very fond of returning to Asia to live once I complete my studies here in America.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know if I've been obvious enough but I LOVE BEING A MORMON !! I don't remember the last time I missed a Sunday of church (wait, I think it was when I was on a plane flying somewhere...). I think I've always known the Church is true. I have grown up as a member of the church all my life, but I have definitely had times in my life where I experienced truthfulness of the restored gospel. I remember finishing the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it was true, I wouldn't have doubted it even if I didn't pray but because we have been told to pray to know if it is true- I did so anyway! And the feeling I got after I prayed was a feeling you just can't deny, a feeling I just can't deny, it's THAT feeling that feels so good and keeps me going. It's the Spirit. It confirms to me that everything I've grown up with is true and real. I am who I am because I know that by living the gospel I get to try to be the BEST person I can be. I get to live the way Heavenly Father wants me to be, to live up to the potential He sees in me.

How I live my faith

I live the way I live by loving what I live. Before coming out on a mission, I served as a Nursery Leader in my branch and just LOVED the kids that I got to hang with every Sunday. They taught me about kindness, forgiveness and simplicity. I've learnt that one of the most important things we can learn as a child is that we are all children of God and that He loves us so much. He has given us everything we see, everything we can touch and feel, everything we hear and everything we EAT! I love that I have the opportunity to serve as a full time missionary in the church so I will be able to share the love that God has for all of us. I want people to know how much I have been blessed by the gospel, how happy and joyful I am because of it. I wake up everyday knowing I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father who listens to me when I pray and even understands when I might be in pain (physically and spiritually!). I want them to know that we have a Saviour who came to Earth to die so that we can live, not just live, but live happy! This is a gospel of happiness, of joy, to know that we can have our families forever (yes! my annoying brother will be with me forever!), to know we can be forgiven from our mistakes (yes! when I got angry at my mum I can be forgiven!), to know we are children of God.
